Beautiful poem, Debbie. So glad you have such a lovely daughter-in-law and that you live near enough to see them every day. What a blessing a bridge can be.

You are welcome, Debi.

I'm a true sucker for happy endings, that we sadly don't see enough of. Maybe the secret to longevity is to build the bridge first, I'm guessing. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful tribute to a daughter-in-law, friend and family member. You are blessed indeed with a beautiful family I can tell. And your grandchildren are a blessing as well. Well done, well written. Beautiful piece of work. Congratulations!

Well, this was a nice way to start my writing/reading day, for sure! What a lucky woman you are, to have a daughter-in-law who actually wants to live near you! And how lucky is she, to have you there! The only advice I would offer to you on this poem, if it's to be submitted to a contest, would be to change your font. Script font is really difficult to read; some contests (not FanStory, but more along the lines of Writer's Digest or some of the Poetry Societies that produce journals,) won't even judge a poem if it's in a script font. Other than that, this is a beauty.

Oh, Debi! I loved everything about this progression of life. A bridge crossing, such special present memories never to be forgotten. I love the warm feeling of this--a beautiful couple. Best JohnC

I have been blessed with three wonderful daughter-in-laws. I only wish they lived closer. The closest one lives 13 hours away. I enjoyed reading your beautiful tribute to Melanie. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Ouch Barb, that is a lot of distance. That also means the grandkids and sons are far away. I bet it is a glorious time when you are together though! Thank you for your very sweet review and comments!
I appreciate it so much my dear friend!

A heart warming poem for sure. Not every grandma can be so fortunate to have a great daughter-in-law and then to be blessed with grandchildren as well. I am sure your DIL has this poem framed and hanging on a wall this is passed every day. Or it will soon reside on that wall. Nice flow and well versed.

What an awesome bridge between generations, Debi. It's more
than just a bridge. It's a connection to hearts and love that keeps
your family members together forever. You did a great job with
your poem. I liked the rhyme scheme, the smooth flow, and the
word choices which created great imagery. The notes were great,
too. The decorative font made this look and feel like a letter you
were writing your son, daughter-in-law, and grands personally
to express your love.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Hi Jan, I thank you for you kind review and comments for Melanie's poem.
Sorry this is so late, but between not getting any sleep, not feeling real well and being out of sorts, just a little too much at once I guess. I sure appreciate your kindness as always, my friend

That is such a glowing tribute to your daughter-in-law, Debi. It is so well done and was such a pleasure to read. It's wonderful that you feel the way you do about her, and I'm sure she feels the same way about you.
I love these family poems. This one reminded me of ones I wrote for my two kids on their first birthday.
Very well done!
