You sure pack a punch into a katie-21 Debra ... this one brought memories of my own mother, whose life force is fading - and I have some many memories of what she USED to be ... well done within such strict limitations.

Hi Sharyn :) Thank you for your wonderful feedback. I'm sorry about your mum... Grandad is in the latter stages of dementia, he's physically frail also and the last couple of days he isn't responding to anything, it's hard to even wake him. We were so close and I have so many treasured memories of the man he was. He deserves his peace, existing isn't living :(
Kindest regards, Debra :) x

Lovely and emotional free verse tribute to your ailing granddad, Debs.
I never knew my paternal granddad, but my maternal granddad, 'Pop', was a wonderful and supportive friend to me.
Best wishes, Ted.

Hi Ray :) thank you for your kind feedback. Glad to hear you had a great friend in Pop, my grandad and I were always very close too. I visit him every week still, though he no longer knows me. Life can be harsh... Cheers for now, debs x

What a beautiful 'tribute' for your Granddad. Look lovely printed and framed by his bedside or chair, a constant reminder for him on how much you care and love him.
Color choice, picture, words just perfect and I thank you for the pleasure of reading you today...Dinah

The sad times are really few if one practices gratitude. When most of us think we have experienced the worse, we always manage to realize that experiences can change if we change our thoughts and our actions. The pain can be released as soon as we can release the past and live in the present. Thanks

Such a lovely poem for your grandad! Your lines,
"I resurrect golden memories
refreshing them with tears"
are just beautiful, so full of love and pathos.
One thing is for sure - he will always live in your memory.
