Hi, Carolyn.
This is a great poem that reflects the grace and beauty of aging. Wine and cheese get better with age. I like your outlook on life. People who see life in a positive light, will age with happiness and enjoyment.
Bye
Rosalyne :)

So true Carolyn and so well put in this little 5/7/5. Some of us will age really well while others will not.

Hi there my dear lady, I am glad you enjoyed this one. (I changed the last line a bit, as I noticed I had six syllables LOL) That happens when it's late and FS goes down and won't accept the edits. Love you, have a wonderful day. :-) Carolyn

Speak for yourself about aging graciously. Im well past 50 and the older I get the more I detest. Sending you a poem I wrote about old age.
Your Friend Jerry
OLD AGE
Old Age...'aint what it's said to be "THE GOLDEN YEARS"
Old Age...Not fun; Dr. Appointments, co-pays, hospital
Admittances, Aches, Pains and tears.
Old Age...Brings crippleness, false teeth, and weakness.
Old Age...Brings hearing loss, memory loss, and sickness.
Old Age...Brings loose muscle tone, loss of co-ordination and hair loss.
Old Age...Brings broken hips, weak knees, and medical cost.
Old Age...Brings on cataracts, poor night vision, sucks
up your savings and high dental bills.
Old Age... Brings short term forgetfulness and long
term remembrances.
Old Age....brings multiple pharmacy trips to buy
multiple bottles of pills.
Old Age.... Brings brown skin spots, loose floppy skin
where muscle use to be.
Old Age....For some it's in their sixties, for others in
their seventies, for Grampa it's starting in his
seventies.
Old Age....How Grampa detests it...doesn't like it at
a'tall. He looks upon it with distain.
Old Age....Grampa's new theme song is 'Hand Me
Down My Walking Cane"
Old Age....It's depressing and debilitating.
Old Age....The only positive things from it is the joy
of seeing God lead in the children's lives, and
watching with interaction the grand children grow
into mature young men and ladies and watching
God's leading in their lives........AND, AND brag
about being a GREAT Grampa.
Old Age....Well maybe it's not so bad after all;
Besides........
Every year that passes, is one year closer to
taking up residence in that Heavenly Mansion God
has prepared for Grama and me.
Old Age....And another thing or two about old age....
Ya don't have to have special talent or education
or good looks (like Grampa) or work out in the
gym, or be a health food zealot to lay claim to old
age.

Hey, this is nice. Aging sometimes accelerates beyond the speed you can handle, watch out.

Isn't that a fact. But, what do they say, considering the alternative, I choose to age. LOL thanks for this great review. Love, Carolyn

A good effort in this rather limiting poetic discipline! I don't know whether it is a competition entry or not, but good luck if it is. I think that all of us would like to age " gently ". I hope it does well, Carolyn! Blessings., Roy.

Thanks Roy for this great review and your generous rating. This one is not an entry but just came to mind after I had just entered Disposable Society. We will see how it does. Have a great day. :-) Carolyn
