Very clever depiction of Winter. The narrative of the poem is well done and the language is realistic. Your free verse style fits well with your words. Great job

Great imagery, and the personification of Winter as a lecherous perv was definitely a different take for the contest.
I loved the presentation, too, with the pic and the black and white lettering.
Good luck in the contest.

This is creative and original, with a rather steamy personification of Winter as something of a lecher. The poem is well done. Good luck to you, Jeanie Mercer

Terrrrific job, Mikey! You've nailed the idea of personification perfectly.... the wind can be pretty nasty, and now I know why! LOL!

Thank you so much. I don't do well in contests, but I will cross my fingers! I certainly will be happy to accept this review as my prize though. smiles

Well, I just voted for you and now you are in first place, but it just started, so that may well change.

Thank you! I think I will take a picture of it and retire. Hahaha. It is getting to me already. I am looking at my cat like I think I am better than him. He doesn't agree.

LOL! Cats all think that about us. :)

The best by far of the bunch. This is the brst piece using personification that i have ever read. Winter is a hhorrible abusive cad!!! This has my vote. If it doesn't win, something is wrong. NG

Everything sounded good until you threw in that last line. Concubine after all the descriptions of an icy bitch? It just didn't seem to fit with the rest but thanks for sharing it.

Must not have been clear all the way through it seems. Winter is teasing and harassing the tree. Blowing up its branches, covering it with snow etc. The tree is the concubine to winter. Thanks for the input. Not sure how to fix it if it is that far off the mark.

How amazing is this to present Winter as a lover or concubine. The details of the first two verses are lovely and revealing in their description, and the mood of the possessor is triumphant. Very unusual and I like all of it. I have never seen a tree look so feminine, but alone. Lesley.J.Mooney. (Dancerwriter)
