I'm always a sucker for a happy ending. Well, I guess it wasn't an ending, but a beginning to a life of wedded bliss. Either way, it was a step toward happiness and commitment. Thanks for sharing.

Rhomas??? or Thomas - paragraph 2
He reappears a few lines down so Rhomas it is.
I would have hawser tied around his neck and dragged him through a turbulent sea for putting his nose where it ought not have gone.

I just loved your story Beth, you wrote from your heart and I was delighted with the outcome. Evan was hurt as he did not want to lose you and you did not want him to be jealous of a situation which was completely innocent. You proved your love for him by showing how much you cared. This is a genuine and heartfelt post and thank you for sharing this part of your life with us, very touching indeed, love Dolly x

Great contribution to the narrative. If I didn't already know that you got married, i would wonder how it was going to turn out. I don't know if we learned that in this book, or in another, separate post.
...town of Newton, where you could order a full meal - You don't need this comma.
...never went to restaurants, and it was the other restaurant - or this one
...the other restaurant that had catered - It reads better (less passive) without the 'had' and remains past tense.
...about something amusing, when who - You don't need this comma.
...the Rainbow café." - I would cap the cafe since it's part of the restaurant name.
Best wishes for the new year.

Yes, Love can do strong things but it is real love that sticks to the inner person more than the service. No doubt over the years you know this. Good one Beth. Evan was on cloud 9 as well.

Awe, Beth, isn't this just too sweet. I loved the way you took matters into your hand and confronted your husband to be. I believe he needed that proposal from you. Bless him. I love this memory of yours. Ulla xxx

Beth,
What a great story. I'm sure you were worried there for a little bit. It's funny how people just assume and tell tales.
When I was in the Navy in 1982 I was outnumbered 100:1. I had a lot of guy friends and that is all they were, but I was called every name you can imagine. At the tender age of 19 I learned not to care what other people think. I can't change it, so why let it destroy me.
Great job
