You made me smile with this humorous post and I think you need to join a club where you can hopefully have some female interaction Terry. Joking aside, I enjoyed your inventive story as I was laughing all the way through it. this is an endearing story and I am not sure a woman is the answer to your problems here and I think you may get more than you bargained for, ha ha hah, Love Dolly x x x

Oh my goodness, Mr. B!
On one level, I do NOT appreciate the content of this narrative AT ALL!
On another level, this offering is one of your finest pieces.
It must be incredibly disconcerting to have assembled all of those professional individuals, and have not one of them be able to come up with a credible diagnosis.... save the "lovely Dr. Hart."
Needless to say, I do believe she is on the road to your cure.
Segue here:
When my paternal grandmother died, my grandfather Kenel was one lost soul. Despite the fact that they often were a bit cantankerous with one another, Grandpa Kenel missed Grandma Kenel deeply. He passed away three months later. Diagnosis? A broken heart.
So... Dr. Hart's prescription of a remedy being that of a female companion may not be off-base.
I would couple that with "butter."
A female companion who would fill your heart and soul with delicious homemade food - lovingly prepared with butter - just might be the ticket to excellent health! (Works for my husband!)
That's all I've got except to write that you had better take care of yourself! In the meantime, I'll scour Traverse City to see if there are any ladies of a certain age who are excellent conversationalists, of a certain age, and know their way around a kitchen!
Thank you for sharing!
Merry Christmas!
fondly,
Big Dog

This story could be a true one. There are more lonely men than momen. Woman will get on with things. Men do sit, not used to being alone. And so the depression and all the illnesses begin. No cure. A woman would certainly change that. This is a great story, Terry. You found a new family right here with FS, and I know Zoe would be pleased. Happy Christmas, my friend, and a fabulous 2025 :)) Sandra xx

This is a delightful story and it's very true and the aspect of cardiologist and specialist having tunnel vision when it comes to their patients they only see the part that they are acquainted with. They don't see the whole person. I enjoyed this very much and I wish you a very merry Christmas And have fun eating the chocolate bunny. Patricia.Hh

This is funny story. If you don't want the upkeep on one, at least consider renting one for the duration of the Holiday season. I enjoyed reading it. I might try Rent-a-Man to get me through the season.

I enjoyed this story very much and that took me by surprise. I don't usually go for the medical posts. I liked the idea of having all the "ologists" together in one room. You'll never get a diagnosis that way. I thought your story was fun with humorous tidbits throughout. You have no idea how hard I laughed at the phrase "feminine supervision" Cute. That's what they're calling it now?"
A good story and fun to read. I found no errors.

And here lies the honest reason we are writers...We can take "actual clippings from reality" and turn them into the most enjoyable stories to bring laughter and warm feelings. I have no doubt you have plenty of offers to share the season (whatever it might be) with friends ...including the female kind. Enjoy the holidays, regardless of how you choose to celebrate, and keep on sharing your smiles with us.
Merry Christmas and lot of love to you.... (Don't take that too seriously)

Oh Terry, this is hilarious. I have no more worries about you gaining weight. After all, after the cardiologists ex-wife and the left over Easter bunny, and a few more goodies from many more, you will fatten up nicely.
You do realize tho that you now will be first in line for all the friends of friends and all the old gals that have never, ever been around the block before, if you know what I mean.
This may be your best yet, as I laughed thru the whole thing. And Cudos the friend who wanted to make sure you had a Christmas dinner. And maybe she knows someone in Texas to send your way. Hahaha, this was awesome.
Love, Debi
