I used to feel sorry for those in passing, but as the years had gone by, I've come be sorriest for those left without their loved ones. I'm so sorry for Sally's loss. And to think she's had to lose not one, but four brothers. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ric, and LOL, you must have read this earlier. A couple hours ago I changed it from four to five. I was in the middle of chatting with Sally yesterday, as we do, (texting thru the day) when all of a sudden she comes back and says she just lost another brother. I thought she said fourth and today she let me know it was her fifth. So ooops, but it is corrected.

I never have felt sorry for the dead, (except if they weren't Christian) but my dad used to say that we are selfish humans because we want them with us, when they are going to a better place. Now I think the way he said it was a little bull, but I know where he was coming from.

Hi Roy, in the third line it says, "He was the fourth and last brother, now Robbie passed away. You must have missed it somehow, but I know how that is, cause I miss things all the time.

But guess what. I have to change it because Sally, who is one of my best friends here just told me that she had five brothers not four. So I have to go change that part. LOL. See what I mean, we do miss things.

How sad for Sally that all four of her brothers have now passed on.Sally must have been close to Robbuie for him to walk her down the aisle. That's now a treasured memory. Her strength, her faith will wrap around her in these days of grief.

I don't know the feeling of losing a sibling as I have none. But losing four has to be unbearable.

Hi there, John. Yes, it is sad. It was so weird as she and I were texting like we do ever morning and afternoon, evening. LOL, and all was fine, and all of a sudden she comes back and said her brother passed away last night. My heart completely broke for her.

So thanks for your comforting words, as I know that they will mean a lot to her. You are lucky you haven't had to deal with that, but still it isn't fun to be without one. I lost two brothers that were both still in their 40s and that was hard. Twenty years later and I still miss them like crazy.

The God of all comfort will delight in comforting those most in need. He is not unkind or unfeeling. It pains him when any of his children passes away. He has also promised that those currently asleep in death will be awakened and allowed to rejoin those family members still alive at the appointed time. Of course we miss those who are no longer among us, but they remain alive in God's memory. Job 14, 15 asks and answers the question if a man dies can he live again? Job also answers that God will long to see his friends who have died. So, a resurrection is definitely on the table.
