Debi, what a great poem and wonderful gift you have to give your family through your talent as a writer. I must say Jason looks 30, and Mel looks 17, but if she wanted to marry an old coot, and you were cool with it...(Just kidding). Well done. Terry.

Lol. Gosh I hate to admit this, but this picture was the only one I could find of just the two of them and it was their engagement picture. They don't look that much different, but I really wanted to post so I used it again. Yes, it was for another one I did. I have posted six things for Mel, and one for Jason until today. She treats me like her best friend and it helps that I had made a vow to be the best mother in-law in the world after mine was such a witch.... Did I just say that?? Hahaha! Thanks for the fun review Terry. But just so you know for further reference, Jason is 2 years older than Mel. And if you look real close at her nose, you can tell it is swollen. The week before she was pitching in her league ball and they batted it straight into her face. She had her nose operated on the week before this picture. OUCH!!

LOL, so she was pitching little league, was she?

Your birthday greeting for Mel and Jason was awesome,
Debi. Your words were straight from your heart to theirs.
This has more meaning and love wrapped up in it than a
store bought card. Their picture was awesome, too. Your
invented style worked perfectly for your well-chosen words.
Those words were descriptive with great rhymes and a heartfelt
message. I enjoyed reading it and know they will treasure it, too.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

What a beautiful couple! Both "May-babies" who found their way to one another's hearts ~ a special "gift" bestowed on them by God, I think! I love the script you used in this poem. It's perfect for your mom/mom-in-law sentiments and gives it an elegant feeling! (Again you impress with your mono rhyme! How do you do that!? (smile)--

Happy Birthday(s) to Jason and Mel!

Thanks so much Sweetie for such loving and kind comments. It is actually their birthdays. She is a Mayday babe and he is 5 days later. But their anniversary is really easy for me to remember. I used to bartend so I am familiar with the dice game 6-5-4. That is their anniversary. And that was their engagement picture. I just couldn't find a more recent one to use. Both of my girls have been married over twenty years and now Jason is getting close. You are so lucky that your grandkids are younger. My two youngest are going to be 12 and 13. But they still call to see if they can come play with me. OMGosh, its no wonder I am so far behind with my thanks. Lol....listen to me go on...and on... that is why did you notice that in the first stanza of this poem I say, "Imagine I have more to say." Thanks again my dearest of friends.

Oh duh. I meant to type "birthday(s)"

    (I've corrected it now!)

I'm brain freezing a lot these days!

    Smiles....

I think tributes to family are a marvellous thing, they are given as a sense of good will to loved ones, and a testimony of the love that exists in this world through the Lord. This is a beautifully written birthday tribute, written with your loving hand. Well done my friend, blessings Roy

A complicated poetry style that you make look easy. Perhaps it was your inspiration for this poem that allowed it to flow so nicely, rhyme perfectly, and express your love at the same time.

I know you adore Mel and Jason and consider Mel your daughter-in-love. A lovely tribute to the May born couple, dear to your heart. You chose a fun Merry-Go-Rhyme for the birthday party. Delightful and fun!

Only a six will do for this. @@@@@@!

Sending you my best today as always and blessings to you all!

Hi Debi, this is a beautiful and heartfelt birthday wish to your beloved daughter-in-love. Your poem reads and flows and illustrates your love and devotion to Mel, Jason, and your grandsons. Of special note:

You're sunshine when the skies are grey
Your giving kindness leads the way

(The essence of Mel. She is all heart, and i shows.)

Good rhyming. Beautiful photo. A pleasure to read. This birthday poem made me smile. Xo. M

Very cute birthday poem. We used to call birthdays on May first, May pops. Then after saying happy birthday, you would punch them in the arm. I was always thankful I was born in September. Lol. Happy birthday to both your son and daughter in law. Gretchen

Hahaha, Gretchen I have never heard of May pops before. That is so cute. Here was always May baskets. Every year my son Jason would take a May basket to his grandma's house, ring the door bell and hang the basket for her on the door knob, and then start running home. If she got to the door in time, she would have to chase him and give him a kiss. That has been a tradition for as long as I remember.
So how how fun is that to hear another view of it. Thanks so much my dear friend. You made me smile.
