This is so cute and clever and full of question marks, but there is no question in my mind that you are a very skilled and gifted poet who knows how to use words in wondrous ways. Good job Debi! I'm sure Jan is pleased to know she is at least ?????? years old.

This is a wonderful tribute to Jannny Pan. I noticed one typo that I hope you can mend. You say she is loyal to veterans and to her county when I think you meant to say her country. Just a suggestion. Please, take it with a grain of salt. I love the repeating lines about her birthday being an unknown amount of time. She wants it to remain a mystery and that is alright with me.

There are several dates that are important to a soul. The day you find your calling, the you realize deeply in you are falling. The day you marry, and each of your kids are born. Thanks Nomi. Lol, sounds like I caught you in a downer mood. Hey we all have them. As for me, everyday is so important to me. I may like the little bit of extra attention and time with the kids when it is my birthday, but since my childhood didn't exist, I use every minute of everyday pretending that it is the first day of the rest of my life. That way, if I hear of cancer coming back or something else that will speed it up, I won't say to myself. Gosh, I wish........ I don't want to use those two words. I had my surgeries. They were tough, but I am working hard to get what I want. I am here on FS and I have such wonderful friends, especially you. And right now, I am good with God. It doesn't get much better than that. And I will walk again. It has just had a few setbacks with getting covid and a few other complications, but they only make me more determined. So that is how I look at not only birthdays, but everyday. I know I may sound a bit Pollyannaish, but that is what my kids call me so I might as well live up to it. Anyway, the greatest part about writing these poems is that awesome feeling of putting a smile on someone else's face. I am already looking forward to the one I am writing for April 2nd. So thanks my sweet friend. And I wish you and yours a very blessed Thanksgiving. Just to let you know, I am so thankful for you in my life, my wonderful friend and big brother!!!
