Oh My Goodness! This is a both whimsical and heart wrenching. Each well done and engaging in their own right. I'm so sorry to hear of Jan's loss. I'm so very glad to have encountered your work.

You are so very sweet, you naughty girl. Lol...I do love your pen name!
I appreciate your kind words, just as I know Jan will. Thank you for the honor of six stars. This will come at the perfect time to cheer her up during her hard time. Thanks again my friend!

What a delightful assessment of the character and personality of one who is so helpful to many others at FanStory. I have enjoyed and appreciated reviews I have received for her. Thank you, Jannypan Jan for all you do to make this a special place.

Thanks so much Verna! I have pulled out of the contest so I will tell you that this is Debi. After receiving one review claiming it wasn't right, and actually wondering if it was Jan writing it, I didn't want anyone to misinterpret my wanting to honor someone who gives so much of herself. I appreciate your very lovely words, dear Verna. Thank you so much also for the kind words spoken to her, my dear friend! That will touch her immensely!

Jan, a kind hearted person with a great writing talent and boundless creativity. An enthusiastic writer's voice, spirited words and a will for sharing and helping.
-All the best wishes and a healing salve for the places needing it most in her heart.

Your lovely poem very amicably honours her gifts. Thanks for writing.

Marien, such beautiful words for our mutual friend. Thank you for such kindness. Jan hopefully will read all of the reviews and hold them as dear as I do while being thankful for all she has done for me.

Please accept my virtual six for this lovely rhyming poem for our dear Jan, mystery poet. It's all true and stated so beautifully. She does so much for us all.

Dear Jan, please accept my condolences in the loss of Tim. I know how special Tim still is to you, and the bond you share.

Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sally Law :)) XOs

What a beautiful ode to a lovely person, and one of the nicest people on Fanstory. You've done a great job with the structure and there's a beautiful flow to this that carried me through a very enjoyable read.

Thanks so much Mike. I have withdrawn from the contest, as I didn't want there to be any misunderstanding of why I wrote it. I just didn't realize that anyone might think that there was any chance that Jan would have written it herself, so it was best this way. This is Debi and I am so very appreciative of your kind words Mike. As always, you are so sweet!

This is really solid and a wonderful way to praise someone on this site. I love that you took the time because she clearly made an impact and touched your heart. There are one or two lines that I think would have better fit the rhyming scheme if they were a word or two shorter, but you had a lot to say. The fact this feels so heartfelt makes me smile while reading it.

This is a well written ode and oh so true. She is kind and helpful in her reviews and writes well. I am sure I read her poem about losing her brother. But she will still be in my prayers.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.
Joan

Thank you Joan. You are so kind regarding Jan and her rough time coming up. Yes she did write about it after it happened. I have withdrawn from the contest so this is Debi. She has been so helpful to me and I was happy to try to show her how much so many appreciated it. Thank again my dear friend.

Hmm, this is well written, and it rhymes well too. The issue is, (and I hope the author isn't Jan herself, but it could be). The use of a popular member's full name and avatar to win a blind contest does seem right. If this isn't Jan, it will certainly make her many fans wonder if it is.

No, this doesn't feel right. I won't mark this down based on a feeling, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Contest Committee rules this out.

Hi Lancellot, no this isn't Jan, I promise. In fact she doesn't know anything about this. I wrote it because I wanted to do something for her, since so many are recognized and I have never seen anything written about her, as helpful as she always tries to be. She told me about how hard this day was going to be for her, and since I didn't have the funds right now to do the rhyming contest that I had reserved and Jan's, I innocently decided to combine them,. Not even thinking for a minute that it may be mistaken as anything else. Do you think I should withdraw it from the contest. I wrote one a while back for a friend and did the same thing, and nobody said anything, but I certainly don't to want Jan to suffer for my naive action.

Honestly, I don't how the the committee will view this. It seems to fall somewhere in the middle of the rules. Also, a regular post honoring a member is one thing, but to do it in a contest (not related to members) is something else. Let's say, it is allowed, and you win by a landslide. Guess what the majority of entries in the contests to follow will be: One for Jay, One for Rick, One for Barbara and so on. If you want to win, you need only draw in the fans of a popular member.

Thats ok, I appreciate this so much my friend. I already wrote to Tom and told him to take me out of the contest. The poem for Jan meant more to me than the contest, so I am just thankful to you for showing me why we shouldn't do it that way. Thanks again. Debi
