Such a cute picture of her cat! I'm so glad you wrote this lovely poem for Helen's special day. She blesses so many of us with birthday poems and with her writing. Have a blessed day. Carol

You wrote an awesome poem of birthday greetings for Helen.
I enjoyed reading your sweet card, Debi. The kitty, maybe Patch,
is precious, and Helen will lovely our work with her on it. Your
poem highlighted many things about Helen--esp the kindness
she shows to everyone. I liked the line about Helen being a rose
among thorns of the world. She never lets her own situation
get her down due to her deep faith.
Thanks for sharing and caring, Jan

Thanks so much Jan. And the cat is her cat Patch. She sent me that picture a while back with some of her and her family. I didn't want to invade her privacy so I just asked if I could use the cat's picture. She will also enjoy reading your lovely review. So thank you again my very lovely friend.

A poet full of life information. Debi what an ability you have to sum up the beautiful accolades of a person and decorate ithem with your own beauty. I hope my greetings reach Helen and her family. I have to read more of Helen's work and come to know her as a poet or writer. Michael

Oh Michael please do that. You will not be disappointed. Also once you get to know her, you will see that I didn't do her any great justice by my words as she is much like the female version of Roy in so many ways. Thanks so much my wonderful friend for such kind words for my poem and for Helen.

Way to go Debi! I was working on a birthday post for her, and the muse has been in "neutral" for a month. I prayed someone would step forward and here you are! Helen is such a wonderful person. So loving and full of faith and kindness. Love your poem--and join you in wishing Helen a lifetime of happy birthdays!

I'm not sure how you can even think right now. I may be in much pain with my therapy and everything, but feeling so rotten and sick too is so much worse as I know what it feels like to have a flare up with it and no thanks.
Helen will love you for your kind words my sweets and I know I do too.

Good to read you again, debi. I'm a big fan of Helen's too. An artful poem that captures the big moments in her life as well as her giving spirit. That standing cat is amazing too.

I really liked the line about the world of so many thorns and she being a beautiful rose. I thought that was really nice. I was a little confused at first, I thought the poem would be about the cat's birthday.

Hi Nicolee. Just wondering if you read the authors notes as they usually will give a bit of a better understanding to things like why I used the picture of the cat. That is Helen's cat and since she doesn't use any family pictures, I respected her privacy and used her hilarious cat. So is that why you marked down my poem? As I know I did try to pack a lot about this extra ordinary woman into a very short poem. But if you didn't read the notes, I can see why the cat was confusing. Thanks so much Nicolee and welcome to FS. I hope we will be good friends.

Aw, how sweet of you to honor Helen! She's been through so much to be here and has an overcoming spirit and positive outlook. She is quick to offers prayer whenever I tell her I have a problem. She's a friend to many here on FanStory. When I grow up, I want to be just like her!

Sending you my best today as always, and abundant blessings for your day, dear Debi,

Hahaha!! You know what Sally? That is my favorite quote that I use all the time. I always tell my grandbabes that when I grow up ....well you know the rest. hehe! Sally you are so sweet and Helen will love your lovely comments as much as I do. And altho she is younger than both of us, I think her wisdom gives her such a mature outlook on everything, yet I love her fun side as well. You know her so much better, but now you know why she hasn't given you a birth date. Thank you my dear friend for such lovely words for our birthday girl.
I am so sorry that I forgot to thank you for the six stars. I was so excited to get them and then forgot to tell you. But your whole review meant the world to me my other lovely friend.

"Happy Birthday Helen (lyenochka)" is an affectionate poem praising the life of a woman who has succeeded in life despite many trials, a person who remains beloved by all of her descendants. Helen's life started out rough with a premature birth and a childhood dream that is never realized. The line introducing these adverse experiences is a little chronologically backward; life wasn't rough where she came from (the womb); it was tough as soon as she got out. Or - maybe - it was tough in the womb too, in which case my objection is overruled.
I like examples of why people are wonderful, or despicable, or boring, or...whatever. Nonetheless, this is a good short poem.

Lol, Frank if I used example of why Helen was special, we would no longer have a short poem. And since you realized you were overruled on where Helen came from, I will leave that one alone. (even tho I did mean Korea)
And I think you love that I love to give it right back to you some, because it's just so much fun with you Frank. So you just wait and when I write yours, there will be an explanation of all the boring, despicable and wonderful things I have to say. (Just kidding) I never feel insulted by your reviews because I find something to take from everyone. However when I do write that one for you, you have to at least promise that you don't give me my first 3. Hahaha!
    Love ya my awesome friend!!!

Lol, be careful Frank, anything you say now, maybe used in a poem later.
Especially something so hilarious. You do crack me up my friend! hehehe!
