Holy Crap! That is wonderful. First, the prompt scares me to death, I stick to free verse. Second, the poem is wonderfully written. Third, the picture is amazing.

A wonderful Wednesday to you fellow poet. I really enjoyed your abecdarian contest offering. I have read about a half a dozen of these or so and I think this one is the best so far. I loved the rhyme and flow of it, great job.

I love your alphabet poem, Yvette. Anytime there's a fire breathing dragon of the kinship kind of course you can count me in.
This is so very well written with tons of great images, emotions and you managed to work in the X with great aplomb.

In my opinion, a striking poem, in both verse and image, for a dramatic presentation - rhyming rhythm easy and casually smooth in the write - fluid in the read and in perfect compliance with the prompt. Best wishes in the contest...

This is very well done description of a relationship between a dragon and its rider. It is a mind meld. They are one as much as a married couple or maybe more according to books. Some say they are telepathic with each other. Xandros is a good dragon name. I've always wanted to be a dragon rider since I read Dragonriders of Pern. Maybe I'll write a poem like yours. The Dragonriders of Pern series was AWESOME, wasn't it? And, more recently, the Eragon series was pretty cool as well....even though they ruined the first novel with the movie!!! So many reviewers have referenced Game of Thrones and I've never even seen episode one!! Plan to one day when 'life slows down', don't cha know? lol Thank you for those awesome stars and such an encouraging review, Joan! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Yes they were and so were Mercedes Lackey's Dragon Jouster books. I heard they were thinking of making a movie from a Pern Book. I don't know how they would do going between or the sexual effect on humans of the mating flight.
