This is very nicely composed, Wendy. Described well and has good flow. Again, image is wonderfully colorful and appropriate. I enjoyed reading your poem. Marilyn

Thanks, Marilyn. It is Lynn's first attempt at being an illustrator rather than an artist who gets to paint what she sees, rather than adhere to my vision. Seems to me it compares to the concert pianist who had to learn to follow the singer (me) in order to be my accompanist. Not all that easy and much appreciated. Glad you liked it. - Wendy

Wonderful children's poem. Kids today know so little of our land's history compared to when I was a child. Native Americans, as well as immigrants from all over the world, contributed to what America is. Perhaps knowing more about other cultures would help people deal with the immigration disputes that are tearing us apart, among other things.

Good morning Phyllis. Thanks for taking a peek at the poem. I do hope to mix in the teaching moments with the ones that are just for fun so that I can sneak a concept or two about history or culture past the little buggers as they read these. It is nice to be back but I jumped right into NaPoMo and so have begun to doubt my sanity. - Wendy

Hello Wendy,

A fine little piece. If all your poems are like this, you have an enchanting children's book to offer, my dear. :)

Good rhyming quatrains and run-on-lines.

And educational too ...

Lovely. :)

Thank you Selina for taking the time to read and review my work. I don't recall having seen a review from you before and it is much appreciated. If you want to take a peek at a few others for the book you can check my Portfolio for Gittle Goldman, Edna Ellis, Betsy Bernstein, and Zachariah Zumbi. Would love to know what you think. - Wendy

Hello there,

This is a wonderfully gentle and engaging poem, I'm sure that children will love it.
Educational, yet light in tone. A good combination.

Thank you for sharing.

This is a wonderful poem on the tepee. I love the last stanza how"Through the night they dance and chant as firelit shadows whirl and leap." The morning star sounds so beautiful. ~Kerry

A very good children's poem This would be a good contest entry or a fine addition to a children's book. I recently posted my first children's story Tadpole.

A very well-written poem about morningstar and the beliefs of the Apache an how they cone to life and honor the earth as their mother and the sky as their father. When the sun rays touch the teepee morningstar goes to sleep.

Thanks for the review Sandra. It is getting harder and harder to find the time and energy to do these and the reviews help revitalize me when I want to just shut down the computer and call it quits. - Wendy
