Well, it engaged this former child. Thanks to you, I'm sitting here procrastinating and delaying putting off a trip to the dentist, and ruing having such a sweet tooth in my younger days. This is a great write, Wendy. Well done. Craig

This is great. Artwork is super and sets off your words perfectly. I DO like the child's poem. As you mention, we all have a child still inside us. At least I hope we all do. That part of us keeps us young(er). Poem is very well done, amusing, and--who doesn't like all those things? Marilyn

Have to admit I'm not a big Jello fan, but the rest, count me in. So glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait for the new guests to arrive and let me get back to reading and reviewing. Might have to do some late night (for me) writing unless I can convince the guests to change their own sheets and cook for themselves. - Wendy

It sounds great, Wendy. I'm assuming that's your B&B pictured in your profile? Looks very nice.

That's my old girl all right. Built in 1909. As of today I have been open for ten years. Quite the anniversary.

A charming home for sure.

Thanks Barb. In the beginning the genesis of my writing (see what I did there?) was all poetry for my kids. they had got to that age where they wouldn't share anymore and told me, " You don't know what it's like. You wouldn't understand." My response was not to say, " Oh yeah?" and stick my tongue out. I began to write about them and my own childhood experiences and it opened up a dialogue that hasn't ever closed down. I'm so glad you liked it. - Wendy

I have a sweet tooth but not that bad. This is a well written poem Wendy.Nice rhyme.
To snack she sucks a lollipop,
eats jello with whipped cream on top.
Just suggesting some small change's there to help with the meter. I stumbled a little on those lines. Use or lose it's your poem. Well done.

Thanks for the idea Nancy. Actually, I did go in and change something there but decided to double down on the l and p sounds in lollipop. I was in a great hurry to post today's writing before new guests arrive and didn't give it enough polish. I always appreciate suggestions - particularly when they are from someone like you whose writing I respect- Wendy

I love the Edna Ellis poem. This write had terrific rhyme and, a moral of the story on sharing. Wonderfully done for the poet month kick off. I thought it was cute four feet tall and under. ~Kerry~

Thanks Kerry, One down, 25 to go until the alphabet is exhausted. Not all for NaPoMo, but a few as I finish them. Thanks for the kind words. - Wendy

You can start at the beginning after 25. Or you can end it a special sort of twist.
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written poem for children to teach them about the selfish acts they should avoid to do. It is normal to love eating sweet things, but not to share with others are not very sweet.

So glad you enjoyed this, Sandra. A moral is always a good thing to throw at the little ones. - Wendy

Two thumbs up for the artwork you chose! The portrait goes well with this piece. For the past 15 years, reading children's books has been my preferred genre, and will be for the next 10 or more. I look forward to reading more of your children's book. Thank you sharing this with us. Good luck with future writings!

This tells about a sweet-eater sweet-not girl child passionately eats anything sweet all day and night and she does not share anything with anyone, anytime; I liked and enjoyed the read.

Oh, that little piggy, Edna! She's devouring everything in site. :)
This was a fun children's poem, Wendy! Children have to learn to share, and you've clearly conveyed that Edna is not a "sweet" girl, she hogs everything! Love the picture!

Thanks Connie, I love to pen this kiddy stuff as it is where my poetry writing began. I'm glad you liked it. Only 25 to go and I'll have the full alphabet done. - Wendy

Wendy,
This was a really fun entry into the NaPoMo Challenge for the month of April! I enjoyed reading about Edna! Who SHOULD be a sweet thing, after all the sweets she eats, but is not! This was fun!

Thanks robyn, I appreciate the read and review. I am hoping to churn out all 26 letters - not all for NaPoMo and then, who knows. I'm glad you liked it. - Wendy
