what a great poem, da. I really enjoy the entire thing, and especially the conflict of the humongous boulder. People play big money to have those rocks brought into their gardens, so lucky for Wally there was one already there.
Excellent message to be prepared to change plans when unforeseen and unchangeable circumstances arise.
A great series for sure.

I'm hoping when I eventually get this out in a book, that it will teach children a little something with the Wally stories. The main idea is to keep trying new things, and not give up just you can't be the best. We can't all be best, but we can keep trying.
Thank you. I'm always eager to hear what you have to say. 8-)

Yvonne,
Well, "finishing the job" the job is not fun for me...but I admire
Wally's positive attitude and example. Is that your photo and
garden? Did it inspire this poem?
He's a fast planter too! 3/4 of an hour for 32 seeds. That's
speedy. I like how you assure us that Wally has not given up
on painting in the entry line. I can't blame him for wanting
to be outside to create some beauty before the snow flies.
I enjoyed the story, nice flow, imagery and rhymes in
this adorable poem. Tell Wally I said hi...He's handsome
too.

What a wonderful review. Thank you so much, my friend.
I'm glad you like this one. Yes, Wally is a fast worker. But you can see his garden is very small. LOL. 8-)

Thank you so much. The rock may think it's won, but Wally has a flower garden. LOL.

Cute poem, your metre and rhyming scheme are spot on. You've maintained them quite well. ;) I enjoyed this, it was a nice, lighthearted work. Keep it up! You're obviously a very good writer.
Best wishes,
Braden

Great kids story with a good moral to it. Humongous is a mouth full. But I like the rhythm, rhyme, and meter of this piece. Great job!

Thank you. Hopefully, someone is reading this story to a little person. I like to throw in words they may have to ask about.
I'm so happy you liked it. 8-)

Absolutely delightful and I was so happy to see Wally return to your imagination, and mine! I read this to my little grand and he was fascinated by the picture as I read it. He's only two and a half, but stayed engaged for most of it. I lost him to go discover a cricket before I could finish that final two stanzas with him. For a two year old attention span, I would say that is darn good. :) Well done in rhyme, pace and story telling.

That is good news! Thank you for telling me. That kind of reaction from a child is just what keeps me wanting to create Wally. Really, Wally sorts of creates himself. He doesn't listen to me. LOL
Thank you. This is the best news I've had all day. 8-)

Excellent thought, finish what you started. Sometimes that's not possible. A few years ago I was clearing a lot to get it ready to build a house. We can across a large concrete slab that we couldn't move.
We brought in a pile driver and for two days we hammered away at the slab without so much as a crack.
We brought in an engineer who x-rayed the slab. I was three feet thick with steel reinforcing that crisscrossed everywhere.
If anyone is interested, I think I know where Jimmy Hoffa's buried.

Hahahaha. Could be. I know there are things impossible to finish, but let's not tell Wally that.
Thank you for such a nice review. 8-)

Brrrrrilliant! Fun poem with a message for kids, too. I love how realistic you make it sound:
His face and hands are smudgy,
and he tore his purple shirt.
We forget Wally is a weasel and can relate to his problems, since these are everyday things we have done.
I love your style. Hard to explain, but I know it when I see it. :)

Ooooooh, what nice things to say. As my little grandson used to say, "My heart is full."
I don't where Wally came from, he just came one day and refuses to leave. How I ever came up with such a character is beyond me. LOL.
Thank you for this wonderful review. 8-)

I know what you mean. It's like my penguin family. They just showed up at the door one snowy day and asked if they could play in the yard. I never should have invited in for fish and tea. :)

hahahahaha. I guess our little guys just needed us. 8-)

Hey Wally,
You are quite the guy because you can sure figure out how to make things work out. I'm really proud of you my friend. I know that you'll be one of my best friends on FS that there will every be. You can tell DaMommy if you want to or keep it your secret.
