Weird? Or what? Even so, I enjoyed it. But I am going to struggle to find enough to say about it to get it past the evil FS minimum review length checker. That might do it!

Evil FanStory Minimum Review Length Checker DEFEAT instructions:
Though rarely occurring, there are some times when a review is nothing more than "Gee -- yeah.", yet we are expected to assemble several characters to represent a legitimate response. Example 1: High school essay answer format:
Bill Schott, your science fiction story, Directions On Io, was weird, or what? Isn't Io one of the moons of Jupiter? Wait, someone's calling me from the other room.
Example 2: Cut and paste:
Bill Schott,(delete+substitute+Dean Kuch+), your science fiction (delete+substitute+horror+) story, Directions on IO (delete+substitute+Guts All Over+)was weird, or what? Isn't Io one of the moons of Jupiter? (delete+substitute+Isn't vivisection fun to say?) Wait, someone's calling me from the other room.
Example 3: Blatant cut and paste gone wild:
I really enjoyed this. It has to be the best one of its kind on this site. I've never read anything else that compares with this.

Hi Bill,
I have to say that I struggled a bit with this. I was trying to wrap my head around the speech. Got there in the end but took a bit of work. It is probably just me though. This was an enjoyable romp. will not be asking for directions on IO, and will stay as far from the natives as possible!

Well, Bill. I'd say it's safe to assume if you should get lost during a sojourn to IO, it would behoove you to carry plenty of spare change. Geesh, those darn aliens. Always tryin to charge an arm and a leg for everything!.
This reads like one of those stories one often sits down to write, having just the beginnings of an idea, and a concept for an ending ( and in my case, muddled one, at best ). But you certainly pulled it off here, hands down (no pun intended). What I really enjoyed most about this was the Ionian speak.

It looks like you should be careful when asking directions on IO or you will be leaving yourself behind for a long time in all sorts of pieces. Such polite natives, but they charge quite high prices. Great story telling. You have an interesting narrative voice.

Comment from Gloria ....
Oh lovely description of the appendage. Beige meat, shudder, that's perfect.
LMAO no, I'll need to keep both legs. Uh oh, he was serious.
OMG, this is something totally new to me, Bill. It sounds pretty scary Now what the heck is he going to sacrifice to the brother. I think he's going to need some spare parts.
Very interesting.

Boy, you sure are versatile! I liked this quite a bit and sci-fi is not my favorite genre. I like it when I read it, but I don't seek it out. The ending was confusing however, I guess he was just on his way to the space station.

Very interesting. It seems when on IO one can't be too literal with the natives, or at least one should not underestimate them.

Ha ha, yes this one was built a sentence at a time in search of meaning and a conclusion. It was going to be a 100 word story, but there was no story at a hundred words so I went to two hundred. Thank you for giving it a look. Bill

I thought this was very creative. A short but enjoyable chapter. I have to say I struggled a bit with the translation! I think you may need to pull back a little on that although it might get easier the more you read. Outside of that - great job. I enjoyed it.
