Hi Carolyn, how are you now?are you better...and your family?
Hope you are doing fine now.

I like the bitterness you imbibed this writing with. It is sincere but still not fair to the vultures!!!!
There are human beings who can be classified as vultures too.
In all species there are certain segments to to do antisocial things.
Who knows their role in this creation. Some good, some bad, some neither good nor bad.
I like this writing though, since you are using it to start off.
Well thought of.
God bless.

Carolyn, I'm going through my own writing duldrum. I must have 5-6 stories ranging from one-third to over half done and I'm bored with them all. Actually bored with writing at the moment.

I need a swift kick in the you know where to get me going again.

Nicely done... John

    Dear John,
I understand the doldrums. No wind in the sails... That is actually a perfect
description of me as well at the moment. Also, a poem or story will pop into my head,
it wont be convenient to write it down and then I can't get it back again.
Do you think it is possible that we have the...... Naw.... not us...
Poor Wainwright is disabled, the Cards might be in serious trouble. And it is so
    early in the season.
Go Yanks,,,, go Cards,..... :-) Carolyn

This is yet another interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of work. Vultures may be despicable creatures, but they are quite useful at getting rid of carrion.

Yep, dinner is served.... they may wait, but if we didn't have creatures such as themselves, the
wayside could be a real 'stinky' place.
    Thanks Tom,

Hi Carolyn, this is a wonderfully penned Haiku which could have easily been entered in any of the haiku competitions on here, winderful use of description and imagery with alliteration thrown in too, sounds like a meal for the Vulture doesn't it! LOL.

Hi, Carolyn...

This was too cute. Love, 'your dinner is served.'

Sometimes all it takes is a little something different to recharge the batteries.

That's why I post poetry in-between chapters. That little break can do it.

Hope you're back posting on a regular basis soon. Now, it's time for this little chickie to hit the rack. Gooood night.

Cheers & Blessings

Yes, it was funny, but last night I had told you good night, then saw
this prompt. Sometimes it takes a suggestion......
I hope to be resuming more activities as energy permits...
As John (jdge54) says, sometimes we get in the writing doldrums.

yep - 5 7 5's are good for a little brain warmup (I used to do them as I was driving into town & back - luckily I'm still alive to tell the tale! I wouldn't label this officially a 'haiku' though - but I'm sure the haiku police have already told you that!

    Hi there,
since I didn't enter it into the contest, I doubt the police will care.. :-)
    Thanks for enjoying it.

They may horrid, Carolyn, but God meant for them to clean up the carcasses of all the dead things, they don't really kill anything, but probably save us from bad odours and disease. But good see you back, and a darn clever, funny, Haiku nevertheless, Blessings, My sister, Blessings, Roy.

    Hi dear Roy,
Actually, they are being cheated of many of their meals. The highway department
in our area, seem to remove road kill so quickly that the Vultures miss valuable nutrition.
God made no mistakes. They and those like them are creations with a purpose.
    Love, Carolyn

This is a fun haiku. Great use of alliteration. Great visuals and "waiters" pun. Your poem put a smile on my face and refreshed me. Thank you for sharing.

    appreciate your affirmation of alliteration.
    Have a great day,
