That's true, notes. I had to read the last two lines a few times because it seemed like you were saying all snowflakes are opportunities. Then again, that's probably just me. Good poem.

Snowflakes are far more numerous than opportunities. Thank you for your wonderful comments. It has been fun to read all the reviews and takes on this Naani. :-) Carolyn

Not sure the last image works.--opportunities are fewer than snowflakes in a blizzard? IMO that's like saying grains of sand on a beach. That's a big comparison. It would more apt to say opportunities are fewer than four-leaf clovers. Well, that's a cliché, but I think you get what I mean.

Thanks for your comments Shari, the blizzard was so absurd, it just seemed to fit with what I wanted to say. I always appreciate your candor. Hope you and Frank are doing well. :-) Carolyn

Well spoken and through the eyes of opportunity many will flourish when they seek for things higher than the traveling person can see.

Hi, Carolyn.
Your poem is well done, and your notes at the bottom are so true. Grab the opportunity when it comes, rather than let it pass by. The picture you chose is beautiful. Best of luck in the contest.
Bye
Rosalyne :)

Hi Carolyn!
Pretty near poem and very truthful message.
I penned the following poem several years ago
and have never posted it.I just thought it
complimented your poem, so posted it with yours.

Have a fruitful week end,
Your Friend,
Jerry

OPPORTUNITIES ARE EARNED,
NOT ACCIDENTALLY RECEIVED,
AND THE ROAD TO SUCCESS,
BY SELF DISCIPLINED IS ACHIEVED.

SUCCESS IS LIKE THE GAME OF CHESS,
AS SOME ONE HAS SAID,
ALWAYS COMES TO THOSE
WHO PLANS HIS MOVES AHEAD.

You're so right. Opportunities sometimes only come once, and if you missed it, then tough luck. Like the metaphor in:

"are fewer than snowflakes
in a blizzard"

Very nicely written. Les

Hi Carolyn,

This is a really nice Naani Poem. The picture is great and your poem is wonderful. It's so nice to see you again. How have you been? I'm in more pain then usual. It even hurts when I breathe. I don't know what's up now.

Kat

    Dear Kat,
I am so sorry you are feeling so bad and I hate it that you are in pain. My ills are small compared to yours. Thanks for the wonderful review. Please get well...... Love, Carolyn

Unfortunately, living here in Asia we never get to see any snowflakes, but waterfalls and rainbows we have occasionally, smiles. So, if we can see snowflakes here, it will be an opportunity of a lifetime to snap a pic of it for good luck, :).
Yes, opportunities do not come often and we must do our best to grasp them in our hands when they do arrive.
Great Naani and best wishes.
Cheerio, hugs and love, bro Ritchie. :))

Then for you, dear Ritchie, I would change the words to:
raindrops in a monsoon... LOL. Good to hear from you and thanks for the wonderful review and best wishes.

Hi, Carolyn. I like your Naani. It makes sense to me, not like some write. Some seem like disconnected sentences. good luck in the contest. Miss Sally
