Our dogs love us even with all out faults and so does God. I enjoyed reading your strong contest entry. It speaks volumes in such a few words/syllables. Good luck.

Good job, Dean, with your 5/7/5 poem with a twist. I love the comparison between our dog's love and God's love. Both are very patient with me. 8-)

Dean I like the way this can be read in reverse and still spell and word and make sense too. Good luck in the contest.

Quite a master of your trade, I say. Nicely written for so few words. You are in the puppy category, are you? LOL
I am happy you used God for the letter G. Spelling dog backwards is God. I suppose you knew that but ... Just sayin'

Yep, I sure did, Drew, hence the "reflected" reference in the last line of the poem. When you see something, like words for instance, in a mirror, they are backwards, or in reverse. My intent here was to show that "God", spelled, or in reverse, much as you would see in a reflection, is "Dog". God's reflected grace.
Thanks so much for your very kind and thoughtful review, my friend. Much appreciated.:}

A beautifully penned spiritual poem. Massive love expressed in so few words. The play on the word God/dog is not lost. Maybe it's God's little hint to humans to treat man's best friend with the respect and love we give him. Even though, I'm more of a cat lover, I appreciate and respect dog with the same intensity.

Thanks, Muffins, and it could just as easily apply to all of our beloved pets. I'm a dog lover, personally, but cats are nice too. I have a black cat named Midnight. He's a good companion also.
I appreciate your kind and encouraging review.:)

Hello "D",
Created by God, and mans best friend... filled with unconditional, patent love... beautiful thought! I think you'll pluck some heart-strings with this piece, (swear to dog, lol). Hope you've penned a winner, my friend, all my best, Bill

Have you heard about the agnostic, dyslexic, insomniac...
He sat up at night contemplating, whither or not there really was a dog....hee hee

I really liked this one! It really says a lot in so few words, and how nice it forms a word either way, and ties it all together again! Great job, and good luck

I have often thought about this play on words with God and dog. I love dogs, but the neighbour's dogs are driving me nad with their barking. I am putting up a higher fence because I know they are jumping this one. Maybe then they will realise that this is not their territory and stop barking when I am in my garden. I hope to God it works.

Heh-heh, yes, it can be a bit frustrating when a neighbor's ill behaved dogs invades your turf and makes your yard their personal toilet, Tomes. But, I have a sign in my yard which reads...
WARNING!
IF I CATCH YOUR DOG IN MY YARD, IT WILL BE SACRIFICED TO SATAN
THANK YOU.
I bought it online for $15.95, and guess what? No more neighbor's dogs in our yard, LOL...

Ha ha. Well done. That is just priceless. I must get one myself.

Hah, yep, it really works! :)

Well done, Very expressive I like that you have included the reverse spelling (God/Dog) and used both references in your poem. Very descriptive.

I've never thought about a dog in this manner--probably because I'm more of a cat lover;
A well-crafted spiritual poem, which also serves as a fine commentary; pets easily mirror God's goodness.
Excellent!

Yes, all of our pets do, Capricorn30. Their unconditional love for us and patience with us is only outmatched by God, Himself.
Thanks for the encouraging comments, my friend!:)
