What a delightful poem. I can see the faces of little kids lighting up on hearing this. The rhyme is both simple and precise, the story, despite his name, warming.
It would make a wonderful little golden book. (If they still have them)

Boy I do not know if golden books still exist, but I remember them very well. Thank you for your wonderful praise and review.

What a cute story in a poem! The rhyme and meter added much to the whimsical feel of this, and i liked the personification of winter's chill. Have you thought of submitting this to a children's book publisher? Having never quite relinquished the child within, I found this poem delightfully appealing. I could see it as a wonderful picture book. It is fun and cute.

Thank you so much for your wonderful praise. I wrote it for 3-year-old granddaughter and it's part of a collection which I have not published titled "Reflections of a Grandfather." Since your review, I changed the last stanza to make it more positive. If you have time, let me know if you liked the new ending better or less.

This is a very interesting piece of writing. You have painted a picture of Wee Willie Chill which I find quite vivid. I can just imagine him running around in the snow, never being able to get warm enough. It is simple, yet you have developed a character and told me where he has come from. This is a very cool poem which, in my mind, is definitely a poem that children would love, with an interesting character.

I am delighted I reached someone "young at heart" who enjoys the poem and the character I created. Thank you so much for your review. Any suggestions for improvement?

I think that maybe a verse about where abouts him and the gnome live may be beneficial. You've use a known place "the North Pole" as his original home, but didn't explain his new environment at all.
That is the only thing I can personally think of, although I would love to read more poems or even short stories written around this character. :)

Thank you for this suggestion. It's a good one. I would like to someday create a cast of characters he associates with.

Very clever writing of poetry and telling a childlike
story all in one swoop. I had to chuckle as I read
it as here in Wisconsin that Jack Frost is at the
door often. I can picture Wee Willie all bundled
up for the cold. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed this read very much. I think it had a good rhythm and flow for a children's poem. Nice job and good luck in the contest.
