I honestly could not distinguish a quatrain from the L train, (and that is not at all written to minimize your work). I like to learn these various poem styles. It sometimes puts the reading in perspective...
This was fantastic. 'Behemoth bird most awesome view' is the view, us seeing the condor in flight or do we visualize what the condor is seeing? I saw it both ways and enjoyed the poem equally.
Nicely done Carolyn. John

I am learning poetry form names from many of our peers here on FS. Writing to that description is another task indeed. :-) Yes, the bird is awesome to our view and can you imagine how large his own view is? Glad you enjoyed it. :-) Carolyn

I am note sure if there is a name for this, but as creative poets, we are able to explore outside the box. I would just call it free verse; Lovely words and presentation. Hugs, Debbie

Hi Debbie, thanks for this great review. It is a Quatrain, with line 1-3 rhymed and line 4 unrhymed. I think the sylable count makes it a little unique free verse works too. I hope 2014 is being good to you my friend. :-) Carolyn

This is just a beautiful read. One can visualize the flight of this fabulous bird through the lovely imagery conveyed in your well chosen words. Well done and thank you so much for sharing this with me.

Carolyn - I liked the alliteration in span, sky, so; and Behemoth Bird, body. I especially like the line behemoth bird most awesome new. The rhyme scheme in the first three lines is also excellent. I would call this a quatrain with an un-rhymed fourth line. There are many forms that are not named, but what you have done is excellent.

Thank you for this wonderful review, that's what it will be called Quatrain, specific syllable count and unrhymed fourth line. ;-) Carolyn

What a well done poem. Using 7 8 7 8 syllable count, agrees with the writing you share here with us. I also loved the picture you combined it with. All in all a great job.

Thank you Pam, and I just reviewed one of your wonderful works. I hope 2014 is treating you well. We are not back to Missouri yet, hope to make it in tomorrow. Lots of snow. Will return to AZ when called. Take care, Carolyn
