I wondered whether Capsicum were particularly hot peppers, but you cleared that up for me. It's just another name for Bell peppers.
Cute kid, Steve! Really well-rhymed poem, with good flow and steady rhythm. I enjoyed the story, and learned something. Well done!

LOL! Funny what will influence children to eat what they have previously turned their noses up at!
Lovely rhymes and super tight meter as always, making for an enjoyable fun read.
Kindest regards as always, Debra
ps. I knew they were the same, but appreciated the note all the same ;) Keilah looks a sweet and happy girl x

Debra, thanks for the kind words.
Yes, she is the sweetest child - not that I'm biased at all! :o)

Very well written poem that flows along perfectly. It tells a good story also, about capsicums and bell peppers. I'm glad I read your author notes telling us they are one and the same thing. The powers of suggestion - typical that a child is influenced to want to eat what she does not realise she is sick of, just because a TV character ate them. There is some psychology at work here. A good poem in good rhyming couplets.Regards Dorothy

Excellent poem, with good humour, good rhymes and nice rhythm. You have made good use of language, imagery and it has a message as well, to boot! Commendable.

Oh yes, the power of TV.
And then they say that violent programs don't influence people. Love the picture of your Granddaughter. I bet many Mums were heaving a sigh reading this, thinking of all the veg left on the plates and disappearing into the trash.
Keep it coming. Loved it.

That's usually about all it takes for our children to be persuaded into liking something they had previously always hated, a cartoon character or a character from a popular children's show to eat, use, wear or endorse it. See? it even worked on Keilah!
Great poem, kiwisteveh. The rhyming scheme was perfect, the overall poem was cleverly written and funny...
Well done!

Funny, I used to shun the capsicum, too. Now they are one of my favorites. Of course it took me a lot longer to come to my senses than Keilah.
It's the jaunty rhythm and nicely turned phrases that make
this poem so appealing.
Very enjoyable.
Peace, Lee
