Thank you. I believe that most politicians know and actually believe that. The problem is that saying that in public will probably not get you elected.

As far as I can tell, the only ones who have the right to fuss about immigration are the American Indians. They were here first. Not us. We stole everything from them.

Immigration is an important subject to write about, as there is trouble brewing at Mar-a-Lago right now. Trump promised to eliminate the H1B Visa program which Elon Musk uses to hire the world's brightest minds and engineers. Musk met blowback and he very publicly called about 17% of Trump's base "contemptible fools and hateful, unrepentant racists" who should be removed from the Republican Party "root and stem". I guess he didn't get the memo.
These folks don't want immigration as they believe Musk's high-paying jobs should go to Americans. Can't say I disagree with that, but Elon Musk sure does. Perhaps that is due to the fact that he was once an illegal immigrant into the USA who has gone on to become the richest man in the world.
But those are the kinds of things related to immigration that do have to be talked about and a consensus reached and drop all the disgusting lies about Haitians eating the family pet.
That said, no country can support unlimited immigration and every political party knows that.
Anyway enough said. I think you have done a fine job with your poem and hopefully saner heads will prevail in the not too distant future.

Thank you Gloria. A point to consider. Elon's thoughts may be influenced by the fact that an immigrant might not be as insistent on the level of compensation as a natural citizen might be.

Of course I know that. But the whole MAGA movement is based on not letting "illegal" immigrants lower the compensation for the job done. And what Trump is saying now is that it's okay for big tech to do that, but a farmer is not allowed to. If Trump is America First as he claims he is *cough* he would see the hypocrisy in his actions. Stop pretending Americans aren't educated enough to do these jobs, because that is just a bald-faced lie.
I always chuckled when Trump hires his high-tech savvy waitresses to work at Mar-a-Lago. Are you kidding me? You can't find Americans who would love that job? Always great to hear from you. :)

I noticed how CBS for example never featured a report on the 300,000 missing and exploited children who came across border under the democratic guise of compassion only to have untold numbers sold into work or sex slavery. Pseudo compassion. I'm one who as a young man would see desperate people who hid in train box cars and would never disparage them, but prayed for them and gave them my change. Interesting that you mentioned heaven's door! It's because there is a wall around heaven according to the Jesus we both claim. I know you are smart and spiritual to know what Jesus called those try a different way to get in. Sometimes, we need show tough love to those who break our laws when sneaking in, then we can let border patrol do their job, the right way. Compassion shouldn't be a trade off, either. We shouldn't have a Chicago mayor taking funds from those in the city who need it and moving it to those who snuck inside our borders. Rewarding bad behavior. Don't you agree? I do agree with you that Trump or anyone else should not disparage Haitians and others who legally come to our cities, working hard and filling jobs that spoiled young generations want nothing to do with. I think, what happens now, going forward, we should all come to an understanding and work together to send more funds to other countries and missionaries, but we can agree to disagree. Appreciate you being willing to raise this issue on site and agree to the point where as Paul said, "Speak the truth in love." Sometimes love means making tough decisions too.

Absolutely. I agree with much that you wrote also. Because I do accept the scriptures, I know that nothing will change for the better until politics and selfish gain are done away with. This is prophesied in scripture, it will take place after the battle of Armageddon and the destruction of Satan the Devil. He is the root cause of trouble on the Earth. His evil influence damages us all.

Thank you Teri. The cautionary thought is that there are really no easy answers to the complex problems that seem to be exploding across the globe. I fear that only God Almighty can permanently fix things.

I can not believe that our great nation has stepped into new shoes that are walking backwards in time, turning our backs on everything we have fought to provide for every person in the United States and now it belongs to only a few - I pray that somehow this hypocrisy is stopped and "justice for all" withstands.

In my 81 years of life I have seen this country take a wrong step or two, so I have complete faith that the ship of state will regain its footing and we will once again become the nation we have been telling people we are.
