Your poem is deeply moving. The imagery of kingdoms sinking into the muck is powerful. The raw honesty in your words make this a poem that lingers in the mind long after reading. It's beautifully written and has such a personal feeling. Great job!

Age is one of those two-edged swords of the universe: it gives us power as we gain wisdom through maturity and strength & it gives us humility as it steals away the physical power awarded in the younger years... Most of the time we don't contemplate the former until the latter slaps us in the face and we are forced to... A wonderfully deep and emotional free verse, Sir Bill -- thanx for sharing that part of your pen! ;) Yvette

This could go for many people who have lived on this earth. I can think of a few that it would fit very well. I have lost some very special people in my life and I know that they were a tower in my life. I wish you the very best in your life and may God bless you and may you have a merry Christmas.
