I have three different colors of Oleanders in my yard. We've had some summers of drought and a couple of cold winters, well, cold for Texas, and they're struggling right now, but still alive. I wish our weather would get back to normal. I enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.

Your poem has a vivid use of words that captures many elements of summer. I like how you mention the lonely drake, moon beams, deer and crickets. Your poetic form and use of words take the reader out into nature creating a beautiful place and a good feeling.

My favorite line "there's blush in the skies". It gives such a vivid picture of a sunset or sunrise. Keeping a rhyming theme and not making it seem so repetitive is a great accomplishment in my opinion! Great writing!

Hello Pam. Although a bit long this poem is lovely and rhymes every line with clever word choices. I love the idea that summer brings us all together and with autumn the summer breeze is just around the corner. Never a negative word to say about anything so positive as the love of flowers, plants, and trees.
Give us more of the positive stuff. We all need a lift now and then.
I hope all your dreams of summer come true.
