So beautiful and creative how you relate the cry and grief of love lost to the willow tree. The picture adds to the understanding of the poem. Well done, dear Donandvicki for sharing this passionate piece. Good luck in the contest.

Lamentations is a lovely 5/7/5 poem for the contest. Nice personification of the weeping Willows and nice alliteration as well.
Very nicely done.
Blessings

An excellent entry for the 5-7-5 Poetry contest. I like the way you personified the weeping willow to make it cry real tears. A beautiful sentiment. Good luck in the contest.

Nicely written 5-7-5 and I particularly like the image of the weeping willow tree. It graphically sets the "tenor" of the poem. The description of line 2 leads perfectly to the last line. Good luck in the contest.

This is a moving poem and the poem transitions from the personified weeping willow to the grieving of the narrator. It has a haiku feel to it. Best wishes in the contest!

Ooooh! VERY cool 5-7-5 coupled with THE most perfect photo to highlight and bring even more meaning to these already eloquent words. Best of luck to you in the 5-7-5 Poetry Contest. I hope you do well with this in the polls. xo

Weeping willows weep for me. Grief and misery is all I can see. Man has become his own worse enemy. He is in need of a healing remedy. Perhaps he should approach heaven's throne on bended knee.
Good write, it inspired this spontaneous response.

good entry for the contest. I like the interplay between the lines. the image chosen nicely complements the poem's meaning. I like the last line the best as it sums up the poem.

good luck !

Lots of emotions in so few words.... Definitely touches the heart. The weeping willow frieves with her as she cries with a broken heart. Wonderfully written. Good luck in the contest.
Smiles and hugs, Carol
