This is a great happy little poem, Willie.
My only negative comment would be the fourth stanza being only 3 lines tends to throw a spanner in the meter of the piece.
However, I am not pedantic enough to downgrade the rating because of this. (Especially at Christmas) It should be a simple correction if you choose to make it.

Your last stanza summed up the struggle so many of us face as we age.... having to celebrate the holidays without the ones we love. The romantic sleigh ride sounds so beautiful, yet without that special someone it loses it's glimmer. Well done!

Your rhyming verse oozes romance and longing and I love the contrasting and tactile warmth of the blanket against the freeze of the temperature. This poem, Sleigh Ride, builds up the many fun and pleasant aspects of the sleigh ride which, unfortunately, as revealed in the last stanza, is not one that will be made in the flesh. Perhaps, in the eternity that follows, the lovers will ride again.
