A timely poem for me to read and to help me be a comforter to my sister who has had several close friends pass on recently and one of my best friend's son just committed suicide. Your personification of the stages of grief is powerful.
Well done Jessica.
Blessings

Hi Jessica,
This is a very good metaphorical free verse about the stages of grief. It makes you almost feel the emotion of each stage.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Dear Jessica
You are truly gifted as a poet. Your use of imagery is superb and striking. It was courageous to take on this theme and you have done a fantastic job portraying the stages of grief.
Can you sense that I have some reservations about this write? Yes I do. But it's not to do with your writing. It's because the stages of grief as delineated are too neat and tidy. Only actual experience can teach just how messy they are; how they overlap and contradict each other. How acceptance can be a mask for bubbling rage that it isn't culturally correct to vent.
Nevertheless your creative imagination and your skill in using it to portray emotions are worthy of the highest praise.
Blessings, Julia

This is very powerful of the stages of grief. I just lost the last of my five brothers. I think Im cycling through denial amd borderline depression. My faith in the good God keeps me from being pulled under. I cried the entire day upon the news. The other night I woke up from a dream crying. It's been difficult. I'll have some more closure in a few weeks, I think, when he's laid to rest. A virtual six today for this magnificent poem. Sending you my best today as always, dear Jess.

Dear Jessica,
This poem breaks my heart in its raw honesty and coming from only someone who has been through those stages you so clearly describe.
I believe this poem could help a lot of people begin to understand their emotions in grief and be a cathartic way to the process of healing.
Truly exceptional xx

I liked the progression this poem took. A lot of dark feelings but the result is that acceptance is a real thing. Thanks for sharing your stages of grief. Very real. Take care and have a wonderful day.

Your five stages of depression were well written. Depression owns your life. A shadow following you. Needing to feed off your wellness. Pills won't help, take the edge off but it remains part of your life. Keeping busy and walking away to God. K xx

Oh Jessica! You're such a fabulous poet. You've wielded the sword of your pen and brought these emotions into real life. I know several going through these stages of grieving and each one of your poems for each stage is a six!

Anyone who has ever sat numb as their doctor mouthed the word "cancer" knows well these stages. We've heard them, clinically expressed for years.
You, Jessica, have given each stage depth and dimensionality. I stopped and paused at the metaphorical perfection within. Undoubtedly a six-star demonstration of how to write to pierce the hearts of your readers!
