I enjoyed this heartfelt and relatable dedication to your girls. It sings with love and a sincerity that makes you wonder who you were before they came along. I particularly like the stanza "You are the wind/that woke the world/And I was born/in your first breath. Mark Twain wrote:
"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why."
You seem to have amalgamated the two into one:)
Well done, Jess.
Take care Debbie xo

This simply brought tears to my eyes. It so perfectly expresses how I feel about my own daughters, but doubt I could have written it so beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing your heart with us.

This is a lovely tribute to your girls. Your life has obviously been enhanced by their addition to your family. Our children and grandchildren are the flowers in the garden of life, making it all the more special. Thank you for sharing.

Wow, this is a great poem for moms everywhere as becoming a mom for the first time changes our world completely. I especially liked the opening. The intensity of love at the end reminds me of how passionately God loves humanity.

This is a really powerful poem with a strong narrative. I like the idea of a baby bringing nature to life that is great. I also like the final stanza a paradox since you never lived until you made him. Nothing for you to bother about but till looks wrong to me, it isn't but I prefer til which looks older but is actually a relatively modern creation.

Your daughters are very lucky to have you as their mother. I can tell you truly love them. My prayer is that all children could feel that unconditional love a parent has for their children. Thank you for sharing this with us.

This is an excellent poem about what becoming a mother does to one. I particularly liked the stanza:
And all that was
before you were
escapes the view
you've made me see.
