Hi Debi. I really like your poem. It was nice to see how you explain the stages of her life. I like the Beatles and Fleetwood Mac. Very well written. Great job.

Aw... I like Jessica, she is very sweet and talented. You really captured her character well. I know she'll love your beautiful poem. Well done!
"She knew already then, she'd write again and then again"
--This line sounds a little awkward to me but I'm not an expert with rhyme and meter. In free verse I would write, ("even then, she knew, she'd write again and again") but you know better... just my thoughts.

Hi Marival, thanks so much for this lovely review. The problem with your way is that it is missing two syllables. And that line is in perfect meter, but if you think it sounds awkward I may change it. But first let me show you something. Sometimes we have to put extra words in there to keep the meter going. That's where I had to put the word, "and then" again. Because it's not enough alone.
Read the two lines how you thought it would sound good:.
Our Jessica's been writing since she first could hold a pen
Even then she knew she'd write again and again.......... you see how it cuts off right in the middle of your flow. Thats why I have to add those little extra words for the meter and syllable count. And they have to be in just the right spot or they will really sound awkward. Do you see what I mean?
I love that you told me that and I hope you understand. I will take your advice and change it, but I still have to put in the filler words to make it keep bouncing along.
I love feedback, so thank you with all my heart, dear friend. That meant a lot that you think enough of our friendship to be honest about it. Thank you so much. Hugs to you!! Love, Debi

Yes, I figured it had to be the meter. I took a meter class long ago but I have a hard time writing meter and rhyme. For me it's too restrictive and kills my flow and muse. LoL

As usual, your poem is simply fantastic and most definitely should make Jessica feel welcomed into the Fanstory family and be thrilled by all the birthday wishes. Your kind heart warms so many others who struggle with their day. What a blessing!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY. JESSICA... May your days be filled with blessings too!
Smiles and hugs, Carol

I've read a couple of your birthday poems now, Debi, and I thinks it's so lovely that you take the time to write such personal accounts. It must take time and effort (and research) to write such beautiful poems that are inimitable to each person and that reveals how caring and thoughtful you are. I hope that the recipients are over the moon at receiving such gifts :-)
It reminds me of two friends I have who are sisters: our friendships have lasted over 25 years. One sister asked me if I'd write a poem for the other's 40th birthday, so I wrote her a limerick and her sister added it to a birthday book she'd compiled. Al, who's birthday it was, said she was really happy with it and for me that meant so much, as it was really enjoyable to write, so you must get this feeling, but tenfold.
Keep writing these poems, Debi. I'm sure they put a smile on the faces of many x

Kelly, you are so sweet, and I do this for my friends and reviewers because I don't get a chance to review much because my screen time is so limited.
I had shingles in my eyes a while ago and iit damaged my retinas. So I used my allotted time to write and thank them.
I would absolutely love to do one for you when yours comes around. If you give me your birthday I put you on my calendar and about a week before I ask for info. It can be as little or as much as you would like to share about yourself. Everyone so far has told me they are lifetime keepsakes.
They take me close to a day to get each one personalized and put it together, tell a story in rhyme, have it make sense and put it in perfect meter.
What I get out of it is a beloved friend and the greatest feeling to see them so happy. So please let me know if you would like a biographical poem.
I thank you for such a sweet and lovey review and comments and I hope to hear from you soon, my dear friend. Hugs! Debi
And thanks for the reminder that I forgot to put it in Notes. LOL.

Thank you, Debi. I have a couple more of your poems lined up to read when I have time to sit and give them the attention they deserve :-)
My birthday is Feb 7th and I will be 46 on my next birthday (cripes). So far my forties have been pretty good, so it's not something I'm dreading (thankfully) xx
