Thanks for sharing the photos and poem, Debi. You wrote a very good tribute with many good examples of how special your grandson is. Good use of rhyme and quotes, as well. I like your reference about the the sign, "Don't whine." I also like how you develop it chronologically.

You shared many joyful experiences when he was young, including science experiments. Children do find a way to grow up and interests change, like getting their driver's license.
The most important thing is that love never ends. Hope he has a wonderful 16th birthday. Is anything special being planned for it?

Pam, thanks so much for this very sweet review and comments for my grandson, Andrew. I have six grandkids and he is the middle and Kenzie, that you know best is my oldest. I did many of these things with all of them, but the rice krispy bars and stick races in the creek, were just for him and me. I tried to make sure they each would have their own memory of grandma some day. But they are all the most precious part of life.
So your kind words mean more than ever. Thanks again, my dear friend.

This is a totally loving and beautiful tribute to your blessed grandson who has such a wonderful grandmother. Writing heartfelt lines about our family members has to be one of the great pleasures in life. I am sure Andrew will cherish this always. -- And the family resemblance is very clear! X Lily

Hi Debi,
This is a poem full of love and fun. Watching them grow and change will be just like our own children. I am not a grandmother yet, but can't wait.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Merry Christmas
Joan

Another wonderful birthday poem so handsome young man too! I am assuming he Your grandson? What a wonderful way to give him a birthday wish and send some love his way. I like how it looks to the writing instead of a text. That's a cool idea. The collage of pictures is pretty cool too Showing different stages of his life. I see no issues with spelling or grammar Or subject matter I think it's a thousand entry once again! Have a wonderful evening!

Grandsons are great. I have three. Now one of them has a baby girl, so now I am a great grandfather. Where does the time go? At sixteen, Andrew is going to be confronted with many temptations. Let's hope he makes it through those difficult teenage years successfully.

LOL, Paul, I have four grandsons and 2 granddaughters and we have one thing going for us to keep out of trouble.. Even the twenty year old boy,, all of them actually are so into hunting and fishing that they seem to turn the girls away. I just want another baby to love, so I envy you being a great grandpa.

I have to laugh at what you said about temptations and all at that age. Last night we all went out to eat for his birthday and his other grandpa had put in his card three pages of handwritten things to look for, think about and do before getting behind the wheel. LOL, it was kinda comical to see the look on Andrew's face, but I am sure they were some pretty common sense things they don't teach you in the classroom. So far he is a good boy, but I know I have been blessed with good kids so far. Kenzie, the one who does much of my art, is going to be a tattoo artist, so that is close as I get to being a little strange. It is a reputable place tho. More domestic than most.

Thanks Paul, and always good to talk to you. And just in case I don't get to respond to my baseball poem right away. I am not a hundred percent sure, but I don't think John gets into poetry at all. He always says he knows nothing about it.

Are you going to get a tattoo?
reply by the author on 14-Dec-2023
LOL, I wanted one years ago on my ankle or shoulder of a butterfly in honor of my mom who died young. But with Lupus you have to be so careful of things like that. So my daughter, Kenzie's mom, got it instead, and that was even before Kenzie was even born.

Happy Birthday to him and a long series of years for both of you to enjoy life together.
