This is quite an assembly of Helens, who all fade in comparison with Our Helen, of course, whom I see has a birthday. If I had known, I would have a quick birthday poem as well. Not good, like yours, but close enough to retain sentiment and maybe see my birthday announced in May. Helen is all you say.

Thanks Bill and to think the first birthday poem I ever wrote was a little silly ole one for you. I owe you a better one in May. "A life important and so full

What a great picture of all those famous Helens. Helen Thomas was a stinker, though. She was a ground-breaking journalist covering the White House, but very opinionated. Her parents were Lebanese, and she was very anti-Israel. She got into trouble for saying the Jews should get out of Palestine. Your poem for our Helen was lovely. Beautifully rhymed, and you mention significant details about her life, with a mention of Patch. It amazing how she finds the time to remember FS members on their birthdays and pray for those who are sick or who have lost loved ones. All that, and her writing as well! Great tribute to her. judi

Hi Judi, I do remember Helen Thomas. As soon as I saw her picture, my mind took me to a judge, but now I remember her role as journalist. Thanks for the kind words for Helen and her poem. It means a lot to me.

Yeah, my husband worries because he doesn't think Im resting enough. But the truth is w/o my writing I would have too much time on my hands to think about what is going on. So as long as I'm able to sit up in my bed and write, I'm not feeling sorry for myself if I'm thinking about someone else. Thanks for caring, Judi.
That's why writing tribute. poems are so rewarding.
Except for this week because of covid, I spend two afternoons a week in the hospital for treatments so its nice to take my ipads w me and work on them. It also

Writing and prayer go hand in hand for me
. My iPad hangs over my adjustable bed by a mechanical arm thats attached to a hospital bedside table which makes it super easy to move depending how Im sitting or laying.
I meant to tell you this, but you are still on my prayer list and I hope you are doing ok. After Sandra?s brother passed and as Im laying in bed right now writing for her it has made me think more about you and how you were. So how perfect that I?d have a chance to have a little chat w you tonight. I pray life is getting easier. My hubby and I will celebrate our 50th in May so I can?t imagine.
