It's Saturday night, no six's left but then I am wondering about that one special thing you do when you are down and out. Now, no body else is reading this, is there a little kicking and yelling first? And, then you look for joy.
That is what I would do. Okay, I might do a lot of cussing first. Which just goes to show what a better person you are! Excellent work. Terry

Hahahaha, Terry if I am nothing else, I do try to be honest. Somedays, I can pass the profanities and go right to the joy and gratitude. Then there are days that I may cry for a while, I may do one healthy F word, and even blame it all onto Glen. (Just kidding) unless it really is his fault. Lol..
but this time, I was in a place where it felt like doom and gloom was all around me and I did not know what else to do with myself. Prayer does help me, as it usually leads me to a friend or two, and then remembering that whenever I say, but on the bright side,...... I find a way thru it.
That is what I want to be remembered for someday. That is the ability to look on the bright side and control a little better my destiny. By finding something to smile about. I can't stand feeling yuck around me.
Certain people also had a big part in my most recent bright side. And for them I am so thankful. So appreciated dear friend.

LOL, poor Glen!

And I hope your plan continues to work, for if there is a need for the world it surely is joy. Why? It, the world, is so confused not knowing right from wrong, up and down, male and female.

Tom, all I have to say is amen amen. Amen. I always knew that you and I thought alike. Most Christians do but it is too sad that the world is the way it is and it doesn?t look like it?s going to turn back anytime too soon - so I keep thinking and staying on the bright side. We can?t change them so we do the best we can. Thanks my dear friend.

I would agree with you save for you having no dark side, whereas I do/have/or maybe had as I have no complaints for the life I lead. I would make it as a Buddist monk, self-restrained and isolated from the world save for my fnastory releases. :-)

Hello, Debi,
You sound like a cheerful type of lady. We all need a positive outlook in our lives. You do a great job. You sound like a faithful person who love Jesus very much. He must help you keep that upbeat attitude.
Well done!~

He there! Yes, I'm not sure what I would do without Him. I have been faced with a big challenge lately and it had me so down that I didn't know what to do and after I prayed, I knew it would help to look on the bright side. I may
be writing about it if I get the courage, but its about my eye surgeon made a big mistake when they did my last surgery a couple weeks ago and now I can't focus with my eyes six feet or further. My bright side is I'm thankful I am still here and can still see up close. at least i can still write. I'm not over it but the rage is no longer there. Now some big decisions of what to do next..
, Thanks my sweet friend!

Such a sunny thought! You included many good ways to find the bright side when feeling down. I'm sure readers will find those tips helpful. A friend made me lovely artwork that says, "Choose joy." It's my reminder. Have a joy-filled weekend. Blessings. Carol

Hi there my dear Carol, I thank you so much for your awesome review and comments for my Bright Side poem. I needed a little pep talk of my own, so thought I'd take my best of friends here with me. Your kindness always means so much to me. Thanks again, dear friend.

I would have needed the pep talk also, but we had a rainbow just before I logged on. That's a great way to make one happy! I enjoyed your poem.

Oh yes, the real ones!

This poem, Finding Our Bright Side, presented with six ABAB-rhymed quatrains, reminds the readers that we can turn bad days around with a positive state of mind. Cool.

There is a lovely positive message in your poem Debi to always look for the joy in life. For me that is nature, listening to the sounds soaking in the beauty. When ourself is joyful we can share that with others. A lovely message. Enjoy your Sunday.
Cheers

You're absolutely right. It never fails to cheer us up if we take the time to be there for others. It works like magic. Very nice poem. Thanks for sharing this.

This is beautiful, Debi. The first thing that drew me to your poem was the picture, then when I clicked on it, it was the colour yellow. I think it's the happiest colour ever.
Your words, of course are the best part, even if it's difficult sometimes. I have bipolar disorder and because of that and even though I take my medication every day, I suffer from depression quite often.
BTW, you've mentioned grandchildren. I'm becoming a grandma in December and I'm so excited!
You do deserve six stars, but I've run out.

Oh Heather, be prepared for many bright days, coming December. I am so happy for you. There is no way for you to even imagine the kind of love that you will feel when you see that child for the first time. And after that, it is with you always. I have told that to many and they later came back and said they thought I was exaggerating until it happened and then they admitted that it it's a kind of love you didnt have with your own kids. Not better, but different. So I am happy, especially when you are dealing with something like bipolar, and I bet this baby will bring many bright sides and bright days for you. The best is the first time you hear them call you grandma or whatever name you choose for them. I have one turning twenty next week, and I still love to hear her call me grandma.
Thanks Sweetie for you awesome review and your always lovely comments. I appreciate it so much, my sweet friend.

Hi again Debi,
My mum has dementia now, but for many years she had a very special relationship with my kids (so did my dad, but he died when my eldest was nine and my daughter was almost four).
My daughter and my mum got on like a house on fire. And the other day I just found out something I didn't know: I hate sewing and when the kids' trousers needed taking in I took them to a seamstress. My eldest son started doing it himself and I thought he wanted to save money (even though he still lived with us and we paid for it), but my daughter told me that my mum taught them on Sundays when they stayed with her. She never enjoyed it much, but apparently my son did.
My youngest son (I have three: 33, 28 and 19) never knew her at her best because she became very depressed after my dad's death and never fully recovered.
Grandparents are special. My maternal grandparents were a very important part of my life.
My father's father died before their wedding and his mother when I was seven, so I don't remember her much.
Hugs,
MJ

What a cool story, Heather. Thank you for sharing that with me. You are such a remarkable woman. I love that your son learned and loved sewing from his grandma and that makes it so special. Then the fact that you too had a great one with your grandma. That is awesome. You will have the greatest relationship with this baby as well and sounds to me like you have some awesome children too.

I do. The tree of them are great and so is my husband. I've been very lucky.

I think it has to be an effort in oneself to have a bright side because sometimes it's not easy to do it. But being happy is great. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing!

Hey there Raul, if every time you feel sad and aren't even sure why, just think about how loved you are here by so many. And I bet you will find your bright side in a second. Being happy is the greatest, just like you said!

This poem reminds us that in can be a personal or a community effort to get you back on the bright side the all things are pulling you towards the dark. Hope and faith make this easier.
