Joanne, I thank you so much for such a lovely review as always. Once again your kindness means so much to me, just as you do. We are still hoping that it is possible for her to be like that butterfly and come and go, and the one thing we know about Karenina, is that if she can, she will. I appreciate your lovely comments for her poem as I do for your comments for her as a remarkable woman that she is. She is special beyond special!
Thank you also for your gracious gift of six stars my sweet friend.

Hear, hear! Well said, Debi. The powers behind this site should seriously consider granting tenure (meaning a free lifetime membership) to those who both reach a certain age and have been valuable contributing members for a certain number of years. Simply put, Karenina is somebody who makes this site a better experience for all of us and the site would be wise to do everything in its power to retain her contributions. Having her leave diminishes the value of this site. Retaining her costs nothing. Seems like a no brainer.

Charles, from your mouth to God's ears! Prayers do make miracles and hopefully some of those miracles are happening that may at least make it so she can fly in and out as that butterfly. But the credit doesn't belong from the place that you and I both feel it should have come from. Unfortunately, that isn't the only road block here but at least that problem has been solved. The rest is up to God. Thanks so much for the very kind words for her poem as well as this remarkable woman. You are so appreciated, my dear friend.

"Karenina the Apple of our Eye" is a sentiment-laden paean of about a beloved friend. In seven beat lines, it uses easygoing conversational language to describe in abstractions this wonderful person. The sweetness of this poem makes it seem a little smarmy, but being the apple of someone's eye is already pretty well out on the dripping with honey scale. I think sometimes stronger lines could've been part of this poem if alternative words were used here and there, and examples of the celebrated woman's behavior would be more impressive than descriptions in general terms.

Hi there dear Frank. Yes, I agree that this may get used a bit too often but when you write as much as I do, you need to draw to those things that remind you of a faith that can help get your through some issues, like what are going on here. And this time, she deserves this type of a send off, as it may be corny to some, but has a personal feel between Karenina and myself. Not in the least insincere or smarmy. I do appreciate your views as always, as I listen and consider every word, with a belief that we can never get enough feedback or ever get to the point where we don't consider every word of it. Thank you my dear friend.

Hi Debi. As usual, I am impressed at how positive your accounts of life and people are. People's emotional centers differ greatly, and I am often preoccupied with the contrast between the bright and dark features of our existence. Be well! Frank

Nice tribute to Karenina, who has been such a big part of this community for quite some time. I too will be sorry to see her go. She's a great talent and we need talent like hers on the site. I hope she decides to stick around. estory

Debi dear, this is magnificent! Karenina must be over the moon in delight. She is so humble, it's difficult for her to receive praise, but I know this touched her deeply. She certainly is the lovely person you described here.
Beautifully penned and illustrated in your unique style. I really love the femine font you chose too. A virtual six today with compliments.
A timely poem too, as she's announced her departure. A special gift to us all. Thank you!!
Sending you my best today as always.

Hi Debi,
Yes we will all miss her and hope she can come back to visit.
This is well written and flows well. Though the swirly font is
sometimes hard to read. It does describe her well.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

This is a sweet tribute poem to one of the nicest persons on this site. Karen has a giving spirit and always act as a cheerleader for me and many others. She will be sorely missed on FS.
Your poem is a wonderful way to get the site engaged in letting her know before she leaves how dear she is to so many. It reminds me of the old spiritual...Give me my flowers while I am living so I can see the beauty that they bring. Well-done, Debi. Well-done!

Thank you for this lovely tribute to Karenina. She is everything you say and her absence from the FanStory site will leave a gaping hole. You express her attributes well in your skilful poem.

What a high honor and what a person who actually deserve it. I have learnt a new expression: the apple of once eye. I remember her and am fond of her, too. We will always remember her.
Well done.
