Engaging in voluntary and consensual activity that is risky does not make you a murderer if the person you do it with dies - even if you wagered on his increased probability of death. You have to have the intent to kill him, and the prosecution has to prove that you had that intent. If she and the man were out running, and he died, would that be murder? Even if she bet on him being the next to go, jogging with him does not make her a murderer. Now, if she had tied him up and spanked him - with a ball gag in his mouth... Now, there might be a case! LOL Good story, man.

Dang, you figured out the details that were in the book, but I did leave them out of the story, LOL, okay maybe not, glad you enjoyed it and thank you for reading, Terry.

Spectacular ending! Indeed, just spectacular writing. There are days, but only in one's dreams.

I could not even find a spag issue and, if there is one, I likely skipped right over it moving to the next section.

And just the right amount of dialogue.

Love it and another 6 stars.

They are guilty as sin. The judge knew it, the jury knew it and the poor dead men know it.

After first ***
Para 3, 1st sentence: SHOULD (illness) be (illnesses)? Just asking.
After fourth ***
Para 5, sentence 2: (navy blue) should be (navy-blue) hyphen
After sixth ***
Para2, 1st sentence: SHOULD (Kates) be (Kate) or (Kate's)

I like Jenny's response to Kate: "Tonight we will see who lives and who dies." Kinda tell-tale. Geeesh, now everybody is going to see who lives and who dies.

Great story Terry

The ending is hilarious with lawyers and publisher preparing for good sex to see who lives and who dies. The jury came through with the right verdict. This is a well-written and well-thought out courtroom drama. It would make an hilarious movie.
Thanks again for mention of me.

Congratulations on making your 100-post milestone. I enjoyed reading this contest entry. I really liked this story. I feel these two ladies were really guilty but impossible to prove. LOL Good luck with the contest.

Love the line about it being more likely that the woman would have died of the heart attack :-) Given how long erections can last . . .

I thought you were going to end this with Sue and Liz in the hotel room asking each other "do you want to find out who lives and who dies?" Now, that would have been a twist.

Glad we got to see the finale of these sinister ladies' trial, although I'd like to believe the jury would have done a little better job of deliberating.

Fun read, Terry.

Terry,

Just delightful. It is nice to find humor about aging. I loved the motto and how you used it in the endings. I believe Viagra was originally developed as a cardiac drug and the now common use was a side effect. You might want to research that. I recently heard that it should be prescribed for women for other purposes. You might want to research that and weave it into the defense, if possible.

An intricate and fascinating story, and a good follow-up to your previous post - but I thought the link with the opening sentence was tenuous. For the contest I would have thought there needed to be something a bit closer to why you were glad they made it. The sentence didn't seem relevant to your story. (Just my humble opinion.)
Congratulations on your milestone post!
