Hi Terry, so many questions asked from a curious grandchild to his or hers grandfather. The answers to are priceless but so are the questions, come to think about it. I liked this a lot. Ulla:)))

Again, you managed a few smiles from me. Many of them, I live by and all of them are so true. You expressed the realty of growing old and you did it in a humorous and sentimental spirit. Great Job!!

I think this captures so well the relationship between grandparents and a small child. So many questions and little curiosities waiting to be answered!

Haha! These views from the rocking chair are all pretty funny. The funniest is Bill who is busy, busy, busy, with one thing after another. Thanks for my afternoon humor.

Terry,
It pains me to give you a four, but it will be thrown out anyway. Overall, this is delightful, but in my opinion you should have stuck with Grandpa and Grandma. The nursing home scene seemed incongruous and ruined the flow by jumping to a different environment. (Didn't you write two pieces on the same subject?) Otherwise this was a hoot. No SPAGs popped out to me.

Sue, thanks for reading; from your review, it sounds like I achieved what I wanted to do. I intended to jump around with different vignettes in different settings with different people faced with the commonality of growing old.
Mostly, I wanted it to be humorous, but with a couple of sobering realities. I did not want it to be a flowing story. I did not intend for the piece to be taken too seriously, more like a "Yep, I recognize that" for seniors, of which I am one.
I did use viagra and older ladies in a fiction story a while back. This was a little different twist on the theme.
Sorry for the dissertation. You have given me several fours, fives, and sixs, so I respect your opinion as an honest assessment. Terry

Lord knows growing older can be a challenge...
Still, Terry, I have to say I heard close approximations to each of these conversations in my years as an RN in Nursing Homes!
Lots of flirting... Plenty of humor...
Many with dementia lose their "filter" and it can be quite the sit-com!
I really enjoyed this...

Karenina, thank you for reading, I think there must be some truth in humor, and as I get older it seems to get funnier. Terry.

We learn with age, it's easier to laugh about it than to complain!

Yes, that's about the way the conversations go when the rocking chairs are the source of motion. The more things change the more they stay the same. You captured the essence of the scene and the time of life very well,

Very clever and fun to read! Did you make all this up, or do you just happen to know a lot of old people? However you did it, you've written a very clever and entertaining piece and I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for posting this. I needed a smile today. ;D

MM, thank you for reading and for your review. In answer to your question, it is all made up in what few brain cells are left, Terry.

You are incredibly clever and so deserving of your new title. 😊

Comment from Mary Vigasin
Your vignettes are funny, sweet, and heartfelt. It is simply delightful and charming.
I truly enjoyed reading each one. The last one particularly, I hear often in my senior Candlepin Bowling league. The only problem with their comments is that they place me as ruling the roost and telling my husband what he thinks! So true to life!
Thanks for the laugh!
Best wishes and regards,
Mary

Lol. If elderly care facilities have this much humorous dialogue taking place, maybe I shouldn't fear being placed in one someday. Fun and entertaining piece, Terry. Thanks.
