I do love when spring is upon us strutting with new buds bursting into life. It's a life confirming season much needed in this dark age we are living through. I hope you will do well in the contest. Ulla:)))

JLR: I love looking for buds in the snow. We still have snow
here but no buds yet. March will pass to April showers and
buds popping out. I like your warm thoughts of spring.

THANK YOU! Have a great Thursday!

Just hold on for a bit longer. The day will soon be here when the sun will rise high up in the sky and warm the entire area, giving life to the new plants. Our skins will hopefully be safely burned to the point where we will dive into the coolness of the nearest pool to cool our heated skin.

Nomi, that is a wonderful vision for things to come.

Thank you. I have strong faith that it will occur just so.

This is quite nice. It is well written and captured my attention right from the get go. It flows nicely and kept me right to the end and I felt like I could see Spring through your eyes vividly. Well done.

I loved the line 'just like a frown.' This could be anyone walking down the street in a cold blast. This envelopes the whole year in such a few lines seen through the life of a bud in all its ups and downs. Very clever and very good.

Malcolm, thank you for this validation.
Comment from Joanne Gill-Maddick
This is a nicely written poem . It has a great flow and rhyme scheme. Repeats of nature nurture me when buds I see
ascend, stand tall
long through late fall. Good luck in the contest nicely done. Love your photo.

Reading Minute poems is a first for me; this is my third or fourth one and I see them as a delight. I like your artwork and the poem captured how I felt seeing snow in my state in the Spring month of March.

Hello JRL,
You've written a fine Minute poem for the contest
with a theme all can relate to, the coming of spring.
Your rhymes are perfect and the contest does not require
strict iambic meter, so you're in good shape with this one.
Excellent description of the seasonal changes.
Nicely done.
Best wishes.
Robert

Thanks Robert, I put the reference to strict iambic meter in there specifically for me ...to remind me that I must live long enough to write a perfect iambic poem, preferably a Spenserian sonnet. :)
As they say aim for the stars..

This is a lovely Minute poem for the contest. I love this time of year when all the buds start poking through to let us know Spring is coming. You've done very well with your lovely images shown in your lines. Well done and good luck!! :)) Sandra xx

Nicely done to the prompt. I am ready for spring - although mud season is no fun. We have had some snow lately here on the coast of Maine, but It has melted fairly fast. The worst is over - I think.

Paul, I shall never complain too much when I read others, like yourself, live in the far reaches of the northern seaboard, albeit, when nice it rivals any parts of this vast country.
