This is so well structured and penned beautifully so that each one of the readers can identify with it. Well done! The right footwear has the power to make you feel confident, empowered and unstoppable. Thanks for sharing!

What an excellent poem for the Shoes contest. You covered every kind of shoe since were young. Yes, I too wanted Go-Go boots but my mom broke my heart by saying no. However, I did have a pair of Monkee Shoes. They had like double-breasted eyelets to put the laces through. Remember the Monkees always had double-breasted everything.I absolutely love the comical way you listed them and my closet could have been your twin. Good luck with the contest.

In my opinion, simply superb - I enjoyed every line of this smoothly, rhyming rhythm poem, narrated with warmth and humor - a winning write indeed - best wishes in the contest with this 'Exceptional' entry...

Dear Mystery Writer,
hahahaha! You've perfectly landed on my own favorite set of footwear apparel. ha My in-laws get a bit frustrated with me. And they are the ones who pointed out exactly why is is that most every broken bone I've ever had was between my feet and toes. 'It's because you never wear shoes!' they cried. Hmmm... Good point, I thought. hahaha That thought had never once occurred to me. Isn't that rather dense of me?
Who cares? I'd rather suffer a few broken digits from time to time and feel the soil and floor the way God intended than wear nasty, confining shoes all the time. Annnyway - this was fun!
Thanks!

LOL! I have to chuckle with you because my family says the same thing to me! You don't know how many times I've left my baby toe in the kitchen when the rest of me stumbles into the dining room! Ouch! Thank you so much for the wonderful review... I'm so happy that you enjoyed! Have a wonderful evening!

Shoes can be such a useful, I'm sure Imelda Marcos, who stored and was reputed to have something like 3000 pairs of shoes to her name, I'm you and she would soon become good pals. This is the best of these poems I have seen. Full of articulation and very clever, you're a very smart wordsmith, written as an ode, written in 8686 and abcb even though they're in hexametric stanzas, well done blessings Roy

Excellent! This was a great poem about shoes. What talent you displayed in describing the various pairs of shoes you've owned down through the ages. No doubt you have a winning entry here. I was thoroughly entertained. Well done. Have a great day.

You just have to be Imelda Marcos, wife of the ex-president of the Philippines, wh0 had reputedly 3,000 pairs of shoes in her wardrobe. Anyway You are Imelda and I claim the prize. A great poem of a shoe fetishist.

I love your Shoe contest entry, and the walk through the shoe decades of your life. Mine are similar. And with each pair of shoes, we just knew there couldn't be any better - yet there always was another pair we just had to have. I'm like you - I enjoy my two pair feet now more than every! Thanks for sharing, and best wishes in the contest.
