Your interesting poem inspired my own record of the evening:
My wife's not a fan - just like you.
But, Super Bowl? She's watches, too.
Does she watch to be with me? Oh No!
She likes the commercials and halftime show
This year's commercials were not funny;
At least that's the vote of me and my honey.
And, the half-time show was as bad as can get.
Then, the Jeep-Springsteen ad, she said, "that's it!"
I just had to agree.
I went back to wine and poetry.

Thank you, Reese, for your excellent five star review and for sharing your own amusing, original poem about the game -- I love it!
I thought there were perhaps a few interesting commercials, but I agree with you and your wife about the half-time show; it coincided with our pizza delivery, which mostly saved us from that cacophony of noise, lights and smoke. Granted, we're Christians and are not easily entertained by secular music, but even the stuff they performed in Times Square on New Year's Eve was much better than that. (We saw some of it afterwards on YouTube; we were busy praying in the New Year on Zoom, when the clock struck twelve.) Yes, the pizza arrived just in the nick of time! God bless you both, and thanks for the smiles ;-)

Thank you for your good review. I always want my writing to be good. What is a SEO expert? I'm not familiar with that term. May God bless you and your family, and keep you safe. - Mary Kay

Your narrative poem is excellent, giving a detailed view of how you and your husband took in that VERY special event, which increased the world's praise of Tom Brady.

Thank you very much for your beautiful review, Janice. Yes, it was really Tom Brady's moment to shine. But I think my husband had just as much fun, lol. God bless you. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Mary Kay,
This is an excellent poem about Super Bowl Sunday from a spectator' take on it. Brady had outshine everybody, and I did not like him before either , because I liked His erstwhile rival, Peyton Manning. But the 'old man' performed well and deserved the win.
Excellent poem, Mary Kay.
Blessings,
Cindy

What a fun poem! Have you documented any other life events with Jorge? I taught adult ESL for a few years. I was always happy to see Jorge so I knew how to pronounce it instead of George, because no matter which way I pronounced it I was always wrong

Thank you so much for your beautiful review, Susan. What you wrote is very funny, because there really are multiple ways to pronounce "Jorge," even in Spanish. He usually asks people to just call him "George," but if they don't ask, he's fine with the Spanish pronunciation "Hor-hay," and yet his mother (God rest her soul, it's only been a little over a year) would call him something like, "Yorg."
I wrote a love poem about him called "Sunshine Boy," sometime early last year, I think... and I also wrote the story about how we met, I think it's called "Two of Us," but I just called him "George" in that story, for simplicity. I also wrote an epic poem about 9/11 called "Day Four," and in the second chapter, I have a picture of a patch he received as a Red Cross volunteer, working in downtown Manhattan -- I referred to him as Jorge in a footnote. I have plans to eventually expand on it, and add more about his volunteer experience, but I've misplaced my Notes. I'm also not sure if I'll be able to expand my poetry book into something that includes prose... that's a very long answer to your question!
Maybe, just maybe someday I'll write more of an autobiography, and then he will have a lot of space in it!
Thanks so much for reviewing. God bless you. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Ha, Ha, Ha at least you got a peaceful night, usually me and my husband we are on opposite sides so it's a war:) "My husband was happy as he could be,
As he soaked in all he wanted to see.
We were grateful for all the fun that night,
But being together, that was our delight." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Thank you very much, dear Iza, that's very funny! My feelings about sports aren't strong enough for us to have a war, but I must say that we were somewhat of a disagreement during one World Series, when it was the Mets (my team) vs. the Yankees (his team). Nevertheless, it was a good-natured competition, so that was okay. It's much more fun, to be on the same side! And especially when your team wins! Thank you very much for the great review, and may God bless you both.

Very nicely done, Mary Kay. It is obvious from the lines in your poem that you two love and respect one another. your hubby could find a lot worse than the likes of Tom Brady to like. Bless you folks. Bob

Thank you for your kind and excellent review, Bob. Yes, we are blessed with a good and loving marriage. We have always been willing to work at it -- something each of us has been more than willing to do. He took a liking to me, long before I noticed him, and we became close friends, primarily in a church environment, which fostered trust, communication and respect. This gave us such a wonderful foundation to build a relationship on, that when I finally realized its value, I was fully committed. Love has only grown, through the years. God bless you too, my friend.

I dont get much of a chance to read and review much in the way of sports poetry on this website, so this was a treat. I enjoyed your authors notes as much as your poetry.

Hi Don and Vicki, thank you for your excellent review. Yes, since I'm not an avid sports fan myself, I tried to make it very clear for my fellow writers to understand -- as if I were reading it, myself. Sometimes I have felt that if sports were to suddenly disappear from the planet, I wouldn't notice their absence at all -- except that my husband would be very upset! But I think that from a psychological perspective, they do provide a very healthy outlet for natural aggression, and we certainly have come a long way, since the ancient days of Roman gladiator fights, and even the more recent barbarism of bullfighting. While some sports injuries do occur, that is never the point of the game, and I'm glad that there is even a growing awareness of the need to protect people, especially the youth, from traumatic brain injury (TBI) through the use of proper protective helmets.
Thank you so much for reading and reviewing my poem, which was admittedly on an unusual topic for gentler folk. May God bless you.
Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I enjoyed your story poem about Super Bowl 55 and how you and your husband celebrated it. Your poem worked well. I could see everything you mentioned due to the use of great imagery creating words, The rhymes were well done, too. I'm glad you enjoyed the game along with your husband. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
