Man, why would you say this is your one and only piece? You best spend a little time in prayer and check with God about that. This is awesome and excellent in every way. This needs tio be out on Youtube, Godtube, wherever else God shows you. Don't short change your gift to get God's Word out there. You could do poems of all kinds of Scripture with the sound affects and do a DVD/CD. Turn your dream machine/vision on and see what God shows you. God loves you and so do I.

Hah, thanks you much, Evelyn, and I will. My Pastor asked me to try and use my unique style to proclaim my love of Christ, so at his request, I did so. Now, I am not one to go around preaching, I leave that up to Richie Pride, my pastor. However, I am not ashamed of my devotion and my love for Jesus Christ and felt that Mr. Pride made a good point. Not one of my works glorified God. That saddened me when the realization hit, and what you've just read was my best, heartfelt effort at expressing my love for Him. I am very pleased that you liked it!

A wonderful poem about the Savior's sacrifice. This is told beautifully in your poem. Your message is strong. Your music and picture adds a sobering element to this poem.

Such a powerful poem Dean. As intended I'm sure, it absolutely does reach the heart of the reader; it did mine. Your poem is magnificent in words, tone, rhyme, color, art and music. I can feel your love of our Savior within these words, and this is what I love about poetry. A great way to start my day:)

Excellent. You've done a great job in capturing the horror and yet the glory of Calvary. The line that grabbed me is: "Ground split asunder, quaking the earth;
our eternal Salvation, given birth."
Well done. Thanks for sharing the way of salvation and encouraging people to make the choice.

Thanks very much kiwijenny, for pointing that out for me! I wrote it about three am, and I was very tired. But something compelled me to keep going until it was completed. I appreciate your wonderful review!

Whoa! Dean that is absolutely beautiful. Now I will be honest with you, I am not a religious man..but I do know the scriptures and to tell this story in verse so eloquently, is a skill given to you from a mightier being..and you definitely possess that skill..if God could read this he would definitely give it a seven from heaven!!

I am not a 'religious man' either, my dear DR. I put no faith in religion whatsoever. But, I do love the Lord, with all of my heart, and I hope that came through in this poem...
    Thanks for your wonderful review!

A very evocative poem, Dean, of our Lord who suffered the worst evil man could throw at Him so that all the rest of us could be saved. Yes, you do have a talent. Don't lose sight of your other gifts too. We love your horror stories and poems too. My suggestion, give each one a turn so we may gain from your varied offerings.

And I will take your valued advice and use it wisely, Alex. This will be my one and only post as to my particular faith and beliefs, and if it were not for promising Pastor Pride that I would do so, I would have more than likely never written it.
Thank you again, my friend. I am soon off to the world of Theo, Nem, and the lot...

Feel free to post more poems on faith, but don't forget your other ones.

I don't think my little review can do justice to this dramatically moving--and so true--poem. It is skillfully written, powerfully worded, and faithful to God's Word.
I wish I had a 6 left to give you!

New ways to tell the old story. Our generation has the means of taking the gospel to the whole world right here at our fingertips. Thank you for your obedience.

Thanks very much, Jean. I do appreciate your words of kindness. I was a bit scared to release this, I try to keep my faith and beliefs a closely guarded secret. I did promise, though, and I always try (though, not always successfully) to keep my promises.
    Thanks so much again...

I've been there, too, Dean. Yet in my later years I have pondered that maybe in addition to sins of commission, there are also sins of omission. Like having a God given talent and not using it. I know this has nothing to do with salvation -- that is all because of what He did. Yet if we use our own gifts properly they may glorify Him.

Sin of omission...you make a compelling point there, Jean. I would have to agree.

Hi Dean, this is a very profound and deep poem. You really wrote it well and there is nothing I would change. Very sombre music to highlight the seriousness of the occasion. I enjoyed the read. Well written. luv jada

Thanks very much, jadapenn. I admit, I was a bit scared to release this one because I try to keep my faiths and beliefs to myself. But, Pastor Pride is watching, I'm sure :)

Thanks so much, again, for easing my apprehension a bit...
