I like this quite a bit. My favorite element is the expression of body language, especially on the part of Faye, and of Jerrod. The bit about his feet commanding his attention made me smile.
The only criticism I have to offer is that the introduction of the boys' abandonment by their mother feels slightly artificial. Quite a minor detail. Nice job. :)

Thank you for your review, Simon. And I apologize for the tardiness of this response, but family affairs called me away for awhile. Have a wonderful Christmas Season! ;)

You got into these boys' heads and emotions very well. The characters were believable. Twins seem to feed off one another just as they did in this story. Good work.

This is a nice story of a wonderful babysitter with a twist. The end answered my questioon on how she could be a babysitter for both a father and his children. Maybe when the children get older they'll be able
to see the troll and the hidden fairy wings. I like the infusion of fantasy with reality.
Congrats for the second place finish in the contest.

LOL!! ;) So glad you enjoyed this fun little twist, Joan -- you know the blonde over here, she just cannot write a 'straight-up reality' story...too much work! ;) :) Thanx for the review and have an awesome week! ;) Yvette

You are most kindly welcome, as Cinderella said the the Prince, in my version of the play on DVD. I agree with you about true stories.
Have a great week.

Hi job! ... You win. I never had time for fantasy horror events in my life. Alas, I was busy coping with the real ones. A fun Monday nite read. Makes me glad I never had children. - Lobber

No horror to this fantasy, Lobber - I promise! ;) The only time this blonde writes horror is for a contest... and I don't enter many of those!! ;) :) Thanx for stopping by for Monday night storytime...lol! ;) Yvette

This is such a cute story! Will there be more to come? I hope so! The dialogue was amazingly
Intetesting, like a real conversation between adults and children. The detail of her biting the inside of her cheek is clever...it gives the reader a clue to how she loves the children, and knows what they are talking about. Love it!
Congrats on your win!

Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, Tina -- three sons gives me a 'leg up' on these types of interactions...LOL!! ;) I hadn't planed on more of Faye's magical babysitting expertise, but I've had a number of questions.... so, I might have to consider it! ;) :) Thank you so much for these lovely stars and such an awesome review, my lady -- take care out there!! ;) Yvette

I hope you do write more. Know what
your stories remind me of? A little Mary Poppins and a bit of Berenstein Bears, where there's a different adventure each book!
Hugs!

This is a great contest entry, YM. I enjoyed reading it. Your attention to details add to the enjoyment. Your descriptive words and dialogue do as well. You had me believing this was a 'normal' babysitting story. I was surprised with the great twist and how you continued to expand on it rather than just say it and leave--sorry for the run-on sentence. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully with Love and Admiration, Jan

An incredible story, Yvette. I enjoyed the characters and loved how you led us to the noise maker and the reason for his oaring. I Fun tale of the ancient, fairy babysitter.

Hey Yvette you the teacher with a pen with wings. Fairy good writing. I see that you like the fairy kingdom and I'm glad for without you writing about the hidden world we wouldn't know of it's existence. This is a good entry for This sentence start the story contest. :)

I liked your boys' characters, and the emergence of the troll was perfect. Was Freckles a coon or a cat? I also liked the emergence of the baby-sitter's real nature
