Yessss..and Yess again!
I 'm so happy Junior protected Catzilla's remains and put drooler Megalon in his place.
Dogs and cats are so like people..Megalon was acting just like the local bully...well he got what he deserved .
A very entertaining, flowing piece of work. You are a very colourful story-teller, Sally Law.
I had to laugh when you wrote that you went over to your neighbours dressed in your pink bathrobe and matching slippers. That must have quite a sight ..
Your opening paragraph captures immediately the reader interest and your three closing lines is the perfect warning to those that think just because they are bigger in size they have automatically the winning hand. Junior proved them wrong!
These 6 stars I dedicate also to the courageous son of Catzilla, Junior!

There is a huge story here that really comers down to this character analysis of Junior and Megalon. I like a scrappy cat when I read about them or they are useful in some way. This bout between the offending digger and the avenging puss sums up the general study of size verses purpose. They say in the Marines, "It's not how big you are, it's how you pack it."

Sal, what an adorable story! I loved this!
You have so much talent! I felt like I was right there watching it all. You make the characters come alive; I love all the descriptive details you gave, I really enjoy your use of dialog (you do it so well); and I wish I had just a piece of your creative imagination.
You're going to do really, really well in the contest!
Love,
Gale

Thank you my dear sweet Gale. A true friend. It is an honor just to be nominated for story of the month. I was in fourth place last time I checked. The voting ends tonight. I am happy and so honored just to be considered. My Catzilla series has been so fun for me. So glad you like!

Yes,indeed I liked your contest entry about how your little cat Junior and how he tried wiped out the crap of the crazy dog Megalon.
Let me tell you what we do when we bury our cats in the past, place a big heavy stone upon the grave,

Thank you so much for the excellent review and kind words. A heavy stone would have been the wise thing to do. Good thinking.

Hahahaha! Oh this is a great ending to your story. I live in the city where dogs aren't allowed to roam free without supervision, and cats must remain indoors. I guess you need to place Catzilla's remains in a sealed box so the big guy next door won't continue to dig him up?
Congratulations on the poem of the month nomination for this story. Well done.

Such an entertaining read! The dog is a hoot, and Junior's attitude toward him is even funnier. I love how Junior harasses the dog, stealing bones and overturning food bowls. I also got a chuckle out of "grandcat."
I'm wondering what the elderly neighbor (Megalon's owner?) thought of the activities.
Only a few minor changes to suggest:
-- Need to add "as" in the sentence "It was AS if he was a doggie psychic."
-- I suggest changing "It was" to "They were" in the sentence "It was little things at first..."
-- Change "in tact" to one word "intact".
I hope you have more Catzilla and Junior stories coming up. :)

Thank you so much for your excellent review and helpful critiques.I am blind and this kind of help is much appreciated. My husband and best friend are my copy editors. Problem is, sometimes I fix things or voice text over them and think it?s fine. Thank you for helping me become a better writer. A quality of a writer friend.
All my best,
Sal

Hi Sally! This is sooo funny! I have had 3 cats, and I know how they can be! I absolutely refuse to have a cat door! You are so brave to have such a thing, as it is I have found two live birds in my bedroom, I have no idea how they both ended up there! I've also had 2 chipmunks end up in the upstairs bathroom, ever try catching one of those? I was telling Ms. Snyder about it the other night, she was laughing and telling me I have to write it.
I have only one edit to recommend... In the 4th paragraph, you say, "...he 'vicariously' roamed the neighborhood..." You can't doing something vicariously if you're actually doing it... did your computer change words on you? I hate when autocorrect messes with your work!
It's a very well written, very funny story, Sally, it made me laugh all the way through!

Thank you so much for the excellent review and critique. I appreciate them so much. I changed vicariously out as it is not needed. Great suggestion. I am a blind writer and it is hard to type and use voice text as I do on most days. It gives me some grief. Reviewers like you really help.
All my best to you and your menagerie of pets,
Sal

This is precious beyond words. You tell it so simply - but I can see the fur fly... Dogs think they are fierce, but everyone know hell hath no fury like a kitty kat scorened. Must bookcase this!!

I love cat stories. We have two, instead of Catzilla we have Moeasaurus. Moe can beat any body in the house cat or dog. One question: Should "We lived in the county" be in the country? Very nice job.

Thank you for the excellent review review and kind comments. Sounds like you have a bad cat watching out for you! No, I meant county as opposed to city. The city is always stricter on dogs and leash laws. I still live in the same county, but roaming dogs are picked up and impounded more frequently.
All my best,
Sal :+)
