Thanks for taking a peek at my little guy who, strangely enough, is short on ZZZZZ's. I have perhaps the most fun when I am writing these for the little ones. They will be popping up over the month as I wander around the Alphabet with them. I do appreciate that sixth and so assume that this little guy is read to pop into the other book at the end of NaPoMo.- Wendy

Aaaahahahaha!!! OMG, it is such a joy to read your work, my friend - always! Children will just adore this poem. In fact, I am enchanted - sixty-five years old and I would gobble up every children's poem you write. LOL. I want this book when it's done, you hear?
Once again you've caught me unable to rate this properly though - gosh, I hate the measly allotment of sixes. :((

As soon as all the pieces and parts are together it'll be headed to Amazon, you can be sure. I'll probably let a few people know when that happens ; )

Hi Wendy,

What a perfect illustration for your children's poem. This is a delightful read and reminds me of my eight year old great nephew, Josh. Clean rooms are apparently overrated lol This bed full of toys and fun rhymes are a child's delight (and this former child's, too.) It is a great addition for your book.

Thanks Kim, I am plowing through the alphabet. Have lots of names chosen and scenarios and several actually have a quatrain or two, but I plan on getting it done by the end of the month. Appreciate the R & R.

It looks like you've found a great illustrator, too. So important for children's books.

A very fun piece that made me smile. The writing was exceptional and the story of Zacharian Zumbi is a wonderful end to a different collection of characters. Nicely done

Thanks Barb. The book is coming together, name by name, and my artist is all in and chomping at the bit. I hope to have a few more of these ready for the reveal during NaPoMo. - Wendy

What a nice poem. Amusing, worded well for your children's book. The first four lines and last two are especially sweet. They remind me of my doggies taking up a good portion of my own bed while I'm all scrunched up. Artwork is well done, too. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, I only have one small dog and he can manage to maneuver me to the edge and folded like a pretzel. I can't imagine more than one. Thanks for taking the time to R & R. - Wendy

What a fun piece, and the picture you've chosen compliments it perfectly. I have the same problem with falling out of bed (or at least being in grave fear of doing so), but in my case the culprit is dogs, not toys. I like the rhyme scheme - it works really well. Great work, thanks for sharing. Craig

Thanks Craig, the picture is actually one done for this poem. I tell Lynn what I am thinking for the piece and she starts it. She completes her picture when I finish a rough draft - hence some differences in the illustration. Then I decide on the form and format, finish the poem and put them together. Quick, down and dirty and lots of fun. I appreciate the R & R.

Wow - that's a great idea. I often have a poem, but can't find the picture I really want (or it's not usable for copyright reasons). What you've described certainly gets around that problem.
reply by the author on 07-Apr-2017
I would say that most of her pictures are good. But Lynn is an artist, not an illustrator and the difference is the same as the difference between a concert pianist and an accompaniest. The accompaniest must follow the singer. Make sure you find someone who understands that and doesn't just paint what they see, it must be what you want the readers to see. Just a hint. Good luck. - Wendy

Well written poem about a boy and his many toys. The artwork works well with this piece of poetry. Enjoying these pages from your book. Guess they appeal to the child in me.

I go where the brain drives me. Some days C is just not inspiring. Don't even get me started on N and L. Glad you liked. I am having fun with these. Once I come up with a name, nationality and situation, they come pretty fast. Thanks for the R & R. - Wendy

Wendy, Wow!!! What a fabulous children's poem this is. It is fun and cute, and just the sort of thing that would tickle a tot's fancy, as well as any adult's who reads it to their child. I loved it!

This is worth a 6+ for sure! Wish I had a sixer left for this very deserving write. I can't say enough good things about your write. I loved every line. As kids, on a whole, have waaaay too many toys these days, I can see how every kid would relate well to this write, as they have toys coming out of their ears. It's a very funny thought to think that a child would need every toy with him/her in bed at night in order to get to sleep. Great picture too by the way. :)

This is a brilliant write, Wendy!

Thanks Connie. I read the first draft of it to my grandson - 6 - last night and he giggled all the way through as he recognzed his own toys and propensity to fill his bed to overflowing with them. I'm glad you liked it and appreciate the wished for sixth. - Wendy
