Hi, Jimi
I'm so delighted you liked this one. I actually like this one myself and that is rare. I'm sure you read Gloria's astonishing poem that inspired this. This is one of the few of mine I can read and say, "Yep, that's what I meant to say." Thanks so very much for taking time to review and leave some kind words. mikey

I don't get to all of glorias work, tho I should. Which one is it.

I have no sixes. Seems I missed this one through absence. What a fantastic write and fully deserves to be where it is for I believe it should have the recognition it deserves.
Excellent...and you know how much I enjoy good work.
Best wishes.

As I've told you before, and Gloria already knows, I don't know the first thing about poetry, but I do know what draws my attention and brings emotion and appreciation. Great job. :-)

Us poets are more interested in what draws a readers attention and brings emotion than anything else. We totally dig appreciation as well. Yep, ask Gloria, she'll tell ya the same. :)) mike

Quite beautiful, full of vivid imagery in a smooth, flowing write. The image, the whole presentation is a great accompaniment to the interesting, well written poem.

Hi, Mikey
= Life, with all its adversity and change, evolves and shapes what we do, how we do it, and then adapt to whatever change is metered out.
= Not always fair--sometimes it downright sucks big-time.
= Yet, we must in the end decide if we soar with new wings, or allow said wings take us on wrong course.
= As always, a great read, full of impact and perspective.
= Excellent work.

Mikey, your poem reads like a parable of hope to those who are cautioned never to hope, or believe that there is something higher than they can actually see.

Hello, Mikey :)
I am a big fan of Gloria and I read all her poems and stories. She is an awesome poet and friend. One of the nicest person on this site.
I remember reading Sibyls. It's nice that you wrote a poem inspired by hers. I know she speaks highly of you.
Good job!

It was one of the best pieces I've read, well, ever. A little presumptuous of me to mention it, but I do so just as it being the inspiration and not a comparison of course. There is none. Thanks for reading. :)) mike

Dare I review this poem. Our poet showers us with imagery and with a dispassionate air though he milks them for all they are worth . Why do they remind me of the 18th century metaphysical poets. Is it their pursuit of the uncanny. And a yearning for some mystical attraction? Was even John Donne ever logical? Was William Blake ever simple to fathom? Can we ever know answers? Still our poet present poet writes beautiful poetry. -Ekim777

I'm humbled by your kind and thoughtful words. I've never been accused of being logical as an artist. It's ironic I suppose as I majored in philosophy in college and logic is one of its main disciplines. I must have been daydreaming. :)) Thanks so much. mike

This is well done, Michael. Some free verse poems confuse me and I have no idea what they're trying to say. Free verse is almost a language of its own that I don't always get, However, yours is nice and powerful. I like that you built up the intensity in certain places. Nice, my friend.
Okay, I posted a free verse attempt yesterday. It's simplistic compared to this one lol!

Some free verse just isn't saying anything. I've been guilty of that I admit. I'm so pleased you don't find that here as I truly was trying to say something. Thanks so much for reading and understanding. mike
