Carolyn, You did a good job of writing lovingly
about something that you find so distasteful.
Unkind words and yelling at others is awful. I
definitely like the forgiveness mentioned. We all
need that.

Yep, that says it all...sweet, lovely, the sounds of forgiveness, so ugly and hateful the unkind words and anger...shame you missed the contest, this would have been a great entry! Blessings..Judy

Good. Yes so much silky dripping sweetness and lovely sounds for detraction against the real intent of what the culprit really means & then feigned forgiveness without felling the truth of the pain, anger, hurt, or disgust, of true forgiveness. Unless one has gone through the crucifixion it is impossible to forgive!
Form 5-7-5 no spelling or grammatical errors.

Sweet and lovely sounds
Unkind words hurled in anger
Forgiveness follows
Hi Carolyn. Great haiku. The second two lines go hand in hand (usually, haha). But I don't get how the first line is part of the second two. Unless in a haiku it's not supposed to be? That's my poetic ignorance. Just wanting to know.
Nicely done... John

The theme of the contest (which I missed) was Opposites, tell about something you hate, but in a poem that says you love it. I hate angry words, but, sweet and lovely are the sounds if forgiveness follows. Does that help my dear friend, this was actually a tough one as I couldn't think of a lot of things I hate.... I love pizza, pickles, primroses, ole Yankee fans, the name John, and all sorts of things..... Glad you read it and liked it.
Love, Carolyn

It's hard to think in reverse when reading the entries for this contest. Sorry you missed the deadline. The opening certainly sets a tone of praise and is following by shocking details.

Carolyn
I found that your two ideas were correlated differently but shared the same idea which you related to in your last line: "Forgiveness follows".
This is a very great home for the past poetry contest where the opposites are attracted.
Thank you so much for sharing and posting in May the good Lord be with you always my friend.
