The weeping willows smiling is really a great metaphor and imagery, smiles. With the children playing around the willow trees, it does make the willow smile through their weeping branches, :)).

This is a lovely verse. I am sure the willow would smile! Kids love willow trees, they're so fascinating. I have to confess that the 3-9-5 got me stumped until I read the footnotes!

This is a beautiful poem. Great way you described the weeping willow as a tree inviting to children bringing forth smiles. These majestic giants are so graceful, towering over the landscape. When I was a child, we had two massive weeping willows in our backyard. Your image made me smile with fond memories. Thanks.

Nicely done haiku, Mystery Poet, in an unusual 3-9-5 format syllable count with a delightfully light and airy message.

It is widely believed, especially in Cajun culture, that if you stand beneath a weeping willow tree at night when it is raining, you can hear the whispers of the dead. I'm just dying to test that myth...

A very descriptive 5-7-5 poem about a weeping willow. These trees draw children who love to play under the curtained space their branches provide. Of course they smile.
