An interesting look at Superman's being introspective about his isolated lot in life and all the expectations put on him.

Superman is my favorite comic book hero because, as you point out in the last line of this well-written shortie, he is human, at least partially.
A very provocative piece as it makes us ponder how super heroes could/would view mankind and deal with their human nature. Well done. RodG

Even though the photo displays superman this could be a conversation God has to himself about us. I don't know if that was your intention ,but as a reader that is where you took me even afterI read the last sentence. Poignant read.

I would give you a six just for the story being about Supes, but in all honesty, this was an amazing flash fiction. It hit all the points you needed to enter the contest and delved deeply into the psyche of the man of steel. I once asked my daughter, an avid fan at the ripe old age of seven, what makes Superman the greatest hero. She replied: "It's not that he can do all of those super things, it's that he doesn't do bad things even though he could and no one could stop him." From the mouths of babes, right?
Excellent, excellent work. Thank you for posting and good luck in the contest.

By the way, my daughter is the biggest Green Lantern fan, so this was a huge praise from her. I let her read this and she pointed to it and said, "See Dad!"

Wow, thank you very much, and thank the little one for me. That is the nicest review I ever had. I have another Superman story, a longer one I've been editing of Clark as a boy. It is sort of an alternate history tale. A what if. I also have another Green Lantern in the works, and he is on his first mission to save a little girl's family.

Sweet. If you remember, let me know when you post them. I would love to read them! It's so great to see these characters through another medium than comics.

I love the picture. I love the story. There is no loner life than that of one with super powers. Even the ones that are doing good are under stress. You have to fight and kill all the time. GREAT WORK. Good luck with the contest.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it. I have always thought it much be a heavy weight to be able to do just about anything.

Wow is is so deep. Sometimes it is difficult to fathom but superheros are people to and get lonely just like the rest of us. Good Luck in the contest!

Thank you very much. Yes, they are people too. I thought we don't have enough Superhero tales on the site.

The author takes the reader into the mind and heart of Superman. The line "The hardest part about being Superman... is the Man." rings true.

What an interesting approach! An inner dialog
of the super hero, fighting his own inclinations
and realizing under the super facade,
he's just a ordinary man after all!
Cool write :-)

I'm not sure you've actually told a story here, but I enjoyed the philosophical musings of the Man of Steel.
Super. Man.
Good luck in the contest.
