I enjoyed reading your essay, for it advances forward how to liberate the human specie from bondage. I like best the second to the last paragraph," Mother earth provides the material to manufacture our bodies and yet we spit in her face. We must become more aware of our own actions and begin cleaning our homes. We do not need oil to survive, we need water. We do not need atomic bombs to protect ourselves, we need love. we do not need possessions to feed our ego, we actually own nothing." Thanks a lot for sharing this.

One could also argue the point that this innate knowledge is the foundation for individual destiny. It would certainly explain why generations take on the same avocation or drift into social welfare, perhaps lacking the gene of opportunism.
I prefer your thoughts that the living knowledge, the lessons that are imparted while blood flows and oxygen continues to allow us to thrive, is that which will find itself into the seed. But maybe that seed is the spurt of expectation and motivation that floats through the living cells, not the fundamental genetic make-up that ensures survival. One living generation passes on the expectation to the next and the strength of conviction solidifies.
Well written essay, expands and contracts to argue the scientific formula while encompassing the philosophical merit of the subject.

This will be one chapter in my book of essays and will also be "fleshed out" with more examples, analogies and quotes. Each chapter will contain an introductory poem...John

Dear Cogitator,
I have read your piece of writing. Your writing is excellent, and you have chosen your words extremely well to construct your story. I enjoyed how you wrote about the idea of us being a DNA molecule, which gives us our identity and our own abilities, even before we are born. I also agree that we receive most of our characteristics from our parents. Your writing is philosophical, but at the same time its true. What i mean by philosophical is attributing our mind to that of a computer or the central processing unit of a computer, which in turn controls everything. I agree the ego is responsible for most of the things we do as people. You are remarkably clever how you explain that the ego more or less makes want things in life, because i know this is true also. I acknowledge how you have said we make atomic bombs, when all we really need is love. I agree with this entirely. I believe if we let it, our ego would destroy us. We must do the right things in life, and the ego is not always positive. Overall you have produced a brilliant piece of writing. Congratulations and Well done!
Kind Regards,
Cory4

Your message is an interesting one, but your argument is full of confusing terminology and over-generalizations. i.e. you use "knowledge" when you mean "genetic information", then go on to use "knowledge" to mean an individual's acquired experience; you generalize that infancy is a happy time for parents and infant (severely sleep-deprived parents of colicy or teething infants will disagree). Finally, you present as "Truth" man's cosmic connection to the Universe. That's philosophy, not provable fact (belief, no matter how sincere, is not provable fact unless you've proved it and that proof can be independently replicated without exception). The writing mechanics of your essay are very good. (Sorry, you've stumbled on an editor who is also a biologist) :D Nancy

My take on life is that we all carry our individual universes when we navigate this world. I write about what I am able to discern within mine. Thanks, Nancy...John

Hi, this is a well thought out and articulated essay. Some of your passages reminded me of the works of Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer. The purpose of life is to re-remember who we are, that we are divine, perfect beings. Thank you for putting this up.

Hi C,
I'm confused about DNA molecule containing all previous knowledge of the parents. On what level and to what extent are you referring to?
I find the pg. regarding infants and Pavlov dog response interesting. I believe the 'feeling' does stay with each of us during our lifetimes. I understand what you are saying about until creating a personality the little human will be happy. But that's only if it's first experiences are positive ones. I'm thinking in terms of child neglect and abuse.
I don't agree with you about fear being unknown. Fear is an integral part of us, even as children, and a healthy fear can keep kids from entering into dangerous situations.
Yes, the Ego is very controlling in all aspects. However, this ego is a natural formation of the human body as is everything else. A baby feels pain even though it hasn't been initiated into the overall belief systems of humans.
This is thought provoking and I'd be interested in your comments on the points I made. Lou

DNA is comprised of genes and memes, memes being the memories of the progenitors. Fear can only happen when ignorant or uninformed. If we fear death, there is no limit to the fears we will adopt. "Everything else" is not the body's creation, only the ego. Pain is a reminder of a bad decision. Thanks...John

That's way too simple. You did not address the points I brought up. Perhaps you are more interested in lecturing as opposed to thought exchange.

I did not intend to be curt. I have spent over thirty years of research to create the words I write and I sometimes forget that others need examples of a more ordinary nature to grasp my meaning. This work is one of many chapters that will delve more deeply and provide better explanations. You are applying your own experiences and values on some of the words and phrases - and that's OK. We have to begin somewhere. Much Love...John

This is only your second post that I have read and I enjoyed them both very much. Filled with many truths and information that will make us all better, but as even you said yourself, "Belief is assumption or opinion and can only be partially true at best." Thanks for the great read. :-)

Our ego's puny observations are not capable of defining or understanding the totality of existence, but it can imagine being more than what it can observe. That is the reason for wanting to believe in some benevolent "god" that will reward it with eternal life in some glorious "heaven." It doesn't seem to matter to most egos that we already are in heaven and already have eternal life. Some insist upon creating hell on earth.
its interesting the freedom that any has to make a definite, say this is the way it is, so be it, amen to this observation. Again the freedom we all share! And I think it is okay as long as no mere person demands their way is right and another is false, that is puny thinking right
by the way you write well, even with such great amounts of information that is interestingly put out
thanks for sharing
