That was another winner in my book, Bill. I would never have guessed the twist at the end, so cleverly done. I read the story before this one with tears in my eyes, and got to the end and saw I'd already reviewed it ... with tears in my eyes!! Well done with this one! :)) Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra. I went back and read *Can You see the Stars* too. Man, that's a tearjerker.

I thought your story of 'Fish in a barrel" was wildly original and very well done. Nice little electric shock there at the end. That filthy Warden Sanders will show up again sometime, I hope..Quillian

He's the warden.

Hi author,
A nice surprise ending to your story; the warden did it!!
Yes, I'm certain the literal prison can be hell for the prisoners. And wardens and guards can be as bad or worse than the prisoners. (I see Shawshank Redemption everytime it comes on.)
Thanks for sharing & good luck in the competition!

Sanders, I felt was a cold blooded killer in the literal sense. How you wound this story around the thought that he was a prisoner is the greatest of misleading that I have. Sanders, the killer warden. This is an excellent contest entry. Good luck,,,,,,Jim

Okay, good twist at the end. The only problem is, people don't get locked up in high-security penitentiaries if nothing can be proved against them.

Sanders is not locked up; he's the warden.

Five stars today for telling a complete story within the limited number of words. The end was quite a twist, and made the reader look again at the rest of the tale.

Well, he's a cold blooded one. I guess it should save the state a lot of money to have some of the worst of the worst eliminated. He might be a real asset. LOL
Nicely written and told within the word limit. Good job.

An excellent story for so few words and covers a subject that we can all imagine and appreciate. It is certainly a worthy entry for the competition.
