This has been a very good chapter. Was Tomlinson interfering with the boys at school, or just other men? I am curious about Dougie's history with Tomlinson; and did Dougie just have a slight worry about Waylon being interfered with by Tomlinson. Fill me in a bit on Dougie's history with Tomlinson. Well done.

Tomlin and Dougie were in high school together. Dougie caught Tomlin being aggressive in locker room with a younger classmate. He teased Tomlin to the point that Tomlin was publicly humiliated. So, Tomlin was a predator even in High school. Thank you for the awesome rating and glad you are still reading this. Gretchen

Miranda did some investigation of her own and she has doubts about Dougie killing Tomlin..Mitch is equally ,rightly so , that she shouldnt interfere in the investigation Miranda being Miranda I doubt idf she will keep quiet...

Miranda can't help but interfere. If she behaved, I wouldn't have a story. Lol. Thank you for this. Gretchen

well, I've caught up. It looks like our Miranda is quite the sleuth. And Mitch missed the tire marks.
Also, I'd just like to say that I hope she keeps the money and nobody stiffs her for it. Also I hope Waylon gets to stay with Miranda. I guess there's no chance of their renting a little house??? :) As you can see, I'm all involved.

Miranda loves her trailer. She would have a hard time letting that go. Gretchen

Yes, sometimes, we have to stand up for even jackasses when we know in our hearts they are innocent. Then, we just have to hope our hearts are right. Thanks for sharing.

Miranda is hot on the trail now. I loved how Mitch indulged her request to see the crime scene pictures. He's really a good guy and understands Miranda very well, knowing how perceptive and intelligent she is. And much as she hates the way Dougie has turned out, she still values him as a human being and wants him to survive if for no other reason than for Waylon's sake.

She does love Waylon and knows how much he loves his father. Thank you so much. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
Mitch is quite right about not wanting Miranda interfering in the investigation. Somehow he needs to maintain his professional stance without compromising his relationship with her. I think he handled it well. Good chapter gal.
Have a blessed evening.

Thank you so much. Several people didn't realize he left her alone with the folder on purpose. Lol. Thanks for this. Gretchen

This is written very well and I enjoyed listening to it. It flows quite well when it is read aloud. Your sentence structure your paragraph and your punctuation. I'll make it for a very good piece to listen to. Patricia.

I like Mitch. He's very credible, a no-nonsense guy who does his job professionally with a little bit of leeway, knowing how important this case is to Miranda. She, meanwhile is on a roll and determined to get to the bottom of it, as we know she will. Thank you, Gretchen, for sharing this excellent chapter. Take care Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. Mitch does let Miranda get away with more than he probably should, but he knows there is no stopping her. Gretchen

Check the symbols in your first paragraph.

Excellent chapter. Good composition, dialog, and character development. It's interesting to see Miranda looking out Dougie with tenderness.

The scene with Mitch is funny.

Another great chapter with good form and composition. Great character and plot development.

Well done!

She lives, as I do under that Chinese Blessing/Curse "may you have an interesting life". My life is rarely boring. Just when, I have my hopefully soon ex back under his rock, and quit trying to kill him legally in my stories, he rears his ugly head. I do not engage unless he tells me about his family. Life continues all around us every day. All we can control is us. Good writing. Karen
